No because Manny left our roster in worse shape than USCs for one. You dont notice how much bigger, faster, and more athletic the players are that have come to Miami in the last 2 cycles? And again 2 different things....Riley recruited and coached Caleb W for a few years and then took him to USC. Now, examine the dynamic of Mario and Van Dyke...nothing more to say.
Just look at the Draft - I wouldn't pick a single Cane this year.

We were told we had the talent when we had the coach we did not like…

Now it’s a 5 year rebuild… acquire the talent. The same deficiencies exist from December of 2021. Some of it is rebuild, some of it is absurd.
No, you were told the coach sucked and his recruiting was f'ing terrible so the talent on the roster was getting worse and worse.

So they spent a **** load between 2011-2016, cause over the last 5 years from what I seen they are only like 10th in EPL net spending. And over last 5 years they’ve won the league 4/5 times. While from 2011-2016 they won 2/5.
I'm not derailing this thread further. You did the same thing arguing with @Rellyrell and @TheOriginalCane. Nothing you said in any way changes or contradicts my point.

In large part, arguments around here are taken to the extreme, and parties' end game seems to be proving that they're right. Yes, the talent on the roster has been held together nicely, and that is a valid point considering the climate of college football today. On the other hand, some are disappointed in the perceived lack of progress thus far, this week specifically. Maybe there was a timetable miscalculation. However, some concern could be prevailing due to the use of the word 'aggressive' in terms of a portal approach for the program. Mario's words, if not mistaken. Now pursuing aggressively and making aggressive offers can be two different things. I'm thinking that by hearing Mario and insiders use terms like 'attacking the portal', going in with a 'shopping list', and then CRICKETS this week can have some on edge. Then that brings us full circle to the slurpers v mopes. Some are accused of moping because we've seen nothing to date after a promised aggressive approach. Others point to previous signings this cycle to evidence of aggression..and round and round we go. Does seem evident that there's a measured approach and that the connotation of 'aggressive' could at the very least be easily misinterpreted.

“Any competent coach can win the ACC with this talent”…

Or go 5-7

No excuses for Manny’s incompetence. No excuses period.

Lol It was a discussion about Money and championships. I was staying in the pocket of the discussion. And saying I derailed the adidas thread is hilarious.

As a man city fan from before they had money this is accurate. First five years they had to drastically overpay in transfer fees and salaries. Now they can hold out and guys like Halaand will wait for the buyout clause because they know they’ll win and be a star (and still make massive wages).

Theres two rb’s and we’ll take one. Neither is P5
A 1yr or multi year guy?

Think we bring in 2 HS guys this yr again. So not sure we need a multi-year guy if that is the case…. Though if Chaney doesn’t stay healthy and Citizen takes even longer… might be necessary unless we wanna have to get another RB next yr.

Who is bankrolling them? It can’t all be barstool.

That's what is so weird, it is illusory money. Coach Neon tells them that he'll connect them with all these opportunities, and that has yet to materialize.

They definitely don't have a local "deep pockets guy" (alum OR non-alum), and they had NOTHING prior to 6 months ago, so they kinda squandered the first couple of years of NIL (in terms of getting organized and/or building a Collective).
