it is so disappointing and so crazy that this is what really matters nowadays.

college football will divorce itself from the universities in 5=7 years and from academics maybe earlier. they will be club teams like in europe.

It’s really disappointing to you?

You do realize that the bag schools have been doing this for decades, don’t you?

I’m never going to put Saban down as a coach (as a person, yes) because his record speaks for itself, but how do you think he got, and kept, all those players? Yes, he ran a great program, and that recruits and keeps players, but money even more. He built that team quickly because he paid.

Now at least the playing field is somewhat more level. Yes, Mario is a relentless recruiter, and for that, I’m thankful, but without the money, he couldn’t execute his recruiting prowess. Don’t forget that.

First sentence is spot on. I don’t fault Samson, it’s the name of the game and he needs to get his. But a good bit of that bond to the school has been lost with this, at least perception wise.

Dmoney saying he doesn't expect Miami to settle for "second tier" quarterback and that he expects a decision this week makes me feel like we have our guy and it could only be one guy!
ehh it seems like theres a 1a and 1b because I don't think they consider howard second tier, but I hope you're right and ward is a done deal or just looking for miami to match or something.

They never believed that it was bags. Obviously we all knew dudes were getting paid they basically showed it on social media. Bama went nuts when Saban got there.
You got slaughtered on here like 6-8 years ago for preaching it’s bags. I used to laugh, not because I didn’t believe you, but because it was funny that you were the main one repeating it and more posters than not brushed it off and would mess with you over it.

Bruh fax

Man I was told by a cousin of a Kansas player, she told me he got paid and he went to the nets and he was a basic mid player. He pulled up in a brand new car to Hoboken projects. She over heard me talking about cfb and she spilled the beans. I worked with her and he had a ok decent nba career. Another one was at my moms crib last thanksgiving he plays D1 still (st peters) and that team made the final four the year before last season or elite 8. It may have been the elite 8, I asked him straight up (and I met him that day) to they paid before NIL he said **** yea. Never scared to ask the tough question I don’t give a f.

That's just rose tinted glasses from a fan perspective. As miami fans we should probably recognize this more than anyone given what the program went through with the shapiro and guys having their careers threatened and eligibility suspended over such trivial benefits.

These are two of the biggest weeks in recent Canes football history. I apologize for being vague, but here is the latest in a fluid and fast-moving process.

- Everybody inside and outside the Hecht is focused on the quarterback position. You already know the various names. All I can say is that I don’t expect Miami to settle for a second-tier player and I think a decision will come this week.

- This is college free agency. We saw that with Colbie Young, a good player who didn’t feel he was being offered enough money to stay. The staff is focused on upgrades and maximizing value.

- Some names that Miami likes in the Portal- Purdue WR Deion Burks, Georgia LB Xavian Sorey, Middle Tennessee DT Marley Cook, Tennessee DE Tyler Baron and Indiana C Zach Carpenter. I expect more names to jump in the Portal.

- The Canes continue to aggressively pursue DT Armondo Blount (Central) and he is a name to watch down the stretch.

- DT CJ Clark (NC State) had a great visit and I like Miami’s chances there.

- WR Jeremiah Smith (Chaminade) is watching the QB situation closely. Miami continues to have an intense focus there. Less of a chance with CB Ellis Robinson (IMG) but they are making Georgia work.

- RB Jordan Lyle (STA) remains a priority and a flip candidate.

- Spots are getting tight with the high school class. Don't be surprised to see significant movement in the next week or so.

- Not official yet but very good chance Jalen Rivers comes back for his senior year.
Any Will Sheppard news? @DMoney
