Some thoughts on the Wake game after rewatch

Moten should start with barrow inside and keep messidor at DE. I think arroyo is faster than njoku. Njoku ran like a mid 4.6. I wouldn’t be surprised if arroyo hit a 4.48 type number
Arroyo hit just under 22 mph on that TD against GT. Could see him very low 4.5 or maybe in the 4.4s running in the combine.

Syracuse should be a good matchup for Tyler Baron to have a get right game. McCord isn't a threat in the run game, and making the correct read at the mesh point is where Baron has struggled. I'm cautiously optimistic about the 'Cuse game. If Dawson and Cam are patient we could run for 300+ yards against them and control the clock. We should be able to generate a pass rush with our front four (Baron included). If our pass rush is good enough that 'Cuse has to keep Allen in the backfield to block and/or delay Gadsen going out in pattern to give a chip, I really like our chances.

10 wins….make sure to soak in the moment boys - they’ve come few and far between for us.

The Mark Fletcher block for Martinez stands out to me as the “coach speak culture” stuff Mario continues to talk about - that play is seeing it at work - talent + culture = winning

I know a lot of people are saying Lyle should have and should be playing more

Not debating that but people asking why he wasn’t playing more earlier in the season remember we were throwing at will and Fletcher and Martinez are really good blockers

Not that Lyle isn’t or can’t be just saying it’s a crucial role in our offense

Lyle went from 4th string to Clinton Portis in a quarter of football against Wake Forest

No more Baron. He’s had a full season to show he can hold the edge and utterly failed. I don’t think he should be on the field at all even in third and longs. Last thing we need is Syracuse handing the ball off on 3rd and 8, and seeing their RB pick up 16 yards on an outside run.

So we’ll know when they actually play. Got it

Do you purposely just like trolling 99% of the time now? :pgdead:

The reasoning is not that far fetched. He was in full pads yesterday in the second round of warmups. But okay man lol

I dont want to rewatch the game but judging by the snap counts we only played 2 corners yesterday. OJ and DPJ.

So did Meesh just move to our nickle corner for this game? But then Markeith had only 15 snaps. So did we just not run nickle defense yesterday? Curious about this change first time weve done it this season

Just following your lead.

Mario doesn't give injury information and we have heard or seen players almost back and then them not be back. There is a certainly a chance Brown will be back. 50/50. Like everything else. He is either back or not back. We will see on Saturday. It has been 12 weeks or so, and we saw him warm up and looked for him between the lines. We will do it again at Syracuse.

Markeith entered the game at various times with Powell on the field. It was good to see the D mixing it up at times with personnel and playing more DBs than LBs.

We need a speed edge rusher against a passing team like Syracuse. Would have been great if we had got booker pickett more reps throughout the season

We ran a 4-3 most of the game except on 3rd and long we went 4-2-5 with mesh in the slot

I don't think people on here appreciate Martinez enough. He runs really hard and makes the pile move. He does everything and he does it well.

I'm not confident any of our other backs make the 1st on this play like he does. But he does it routinely.

Pretty **** consistent in pass-pro
And really gets positive yardage as a receiver.
1990 yards and 25 td running game
Now it's time to batter Cuse

More Bobby, More Popo in the game.

Best RB Rotation in the nation.

10 win season. Massive step forward as a program. We’re in the drivers seat for a playoff spot, just can’t choke against Cuse.

But dear god am I terrified about what a potential drop off looks like next year with no Cam. This is a team that has had to scrape and claw their way to 10 wins despite having the #1 offense, #1 QB, and a crazy easy schedule.

But I’ll savor the moment and enjoy this for what it is. Let’s go beat the pïss out of Cuse and win our first ACC title.
I get it - but we were a ten win season last year with a QB who doesn’t throw 12 picks in 4 games. So these hypotheticals go both ways.

Transfer portal has made this a year to year business, much more like the NFL, and we have some nice young pieces emerging (and established) at the end of the year.

Tyler Baron won’t respond to the benching well and we know that. There’s a reason y’all didn’t highlight his Storm Sessions on CIS. It would have been open season in the comments lol.

Boy is cooked and stealing checks.

Mesidor looked great back on the outside and I’m excited for Alston’s return.

I’m not happy with the tackles for loss numbers this season. We are not doing good in that department. Just 6 tackles for loss in that bs offense is underwhelming
Completely agree. Absent TFLs, it's hard to get an offense consistently behind schedule. Teams know if they can just get six yards in three downs that they've got a good chance of converting on fourth.
