You gotta move DPJ back outside. He’s far better out there than he is at nickel. I think having him and OJ outside immediately makes this a better defense. Idc what happens at nickel. It’s not like DPJ has been locking guys down in there anyway.

coaches definitely see the gaps and problems in our D. if they are not playing a younger player, ir probably means they are not any better on a consistent basis

I know its hard to believe but kiko is the same player, he benefited from guidry not having the horses on dline last year so he had to scheme up blitzes for our pass rush, run blitzes to cover up holes there. Now that he isn’t getting those schemed up flash plays its easier to see this is who he is

And as down as i am on him he still makes some plays, besides guidry letting teams get him 1on1 vs TEs and RBs he has done a solid job there..Has had a couple good pbus and i respect the effort even tho thats a bad situation

Just keep scoring, even tho our defense was mid. Cam had a stretch where he went 1-11,3 straight 3 and outs(not all him, some miscommunications) and duke got back in it.

Our defense is what it is, cam and our offense is carrying so unfortunately we dont have that level of margin of error to have that happen vs better teams

But when we turn it up and the defense can get a couple stops in the 2nd halves these teams cant keep up. Just shows why cam should be the heisman clearly, we are top5 because he has been historically great

I wish we blocked up that last play so we could’ve scored 60 on manny lol

Why does Guidry’s first half gameplan consistently blow??? He’s obviously smart by way of his second half adjustments.

I just don’t get how his defense very consistently gets exposed and outschemed to start a game
Bc he loves to stunt on possible run downs rather then make his DL plays gaps. And then he loves to 0 blitz which with a bad tackling team leads to huge gains

My thoughts exactly. Rotate guys in at nickel until a guy takes the position. Rather have DPJ outside where he is effective. He’s really bad in the slot

lol there is no **** way he can play worse than 7 is right now. Mario has a hard on for Big Players at every position and he’ll use the “ Markeith is too skinny” to play Safety excuse. I wanna see with my eyes Markeith is worse than 7 on Gameday and then I’ll shut up.
"Mario has a hard on for Big Players at every position"

That's not true

I'm happy with the progress we have made and it looks like we might matchup against smu in the acc title game. If we make the playoffs I can't complain. It will show we are on the right path and it will give more elite talent a real reason to come to the U.
If we end playing smu the o/u will be 3 digits.

Look at only conference games. It’s not great. If you look at only the ACC teams in games of ACC vs ACC, here is where Miami ranks:

Scoring defense: 14th out of 17
Yards per play allowed: 12th out of 17
Rushing yards per carry allowed: 12th out of 17
Sacks per game: 10th out of 17
TFLs per game: 10th out of 17

The first 4 games are really skewing the year totals. This defense has been well below average in the ACC. Maybe bottom feeder is a little too harsh, but we’re splitting hairs. The defense has been bad and is very likely going to cost us a real shot to win a national championship. The offense and kicking game are legitimately good enough to win a natty. I’m fully convinced.
Wow, this is really bad. Cristobal has to take a serious look at Guidry this offseason, these numbers just don't cut it. I don't totally blame him, we are just not very talented at a lot of positions on D.

Had a holding penalty, which was strange
Watching the replay it was pretty tickytack. He definitely got an arm outside the the guy who was blocking him and onto another OL, maybe pulled a bit, but don't think he meant to. Wasn't like what you see when that's usually called - DL holding a pulling OL so someone else can come around and make a tackle.

Richards, Porter, Harris and Kiko all getting abused this season.
