This morning, LB recruit Kellen Wiley (Seffner) announced he is not visiting Miami this weekend.

I’m told this is NOT a drop situation. The staff really likes Kellen Wiley.

Miami has decided to move this weekend’s visitors (including Mykah Newton and Malachi Toney) to after signing day.

There are a couple reasons for this. First, these players have playoff games for their high school teams tomorrow. So it would have been a shortened, lower-quality visit.

Second, and most importantly, the team is in lockdown mode as it pushes towards its goal of an ACC Championship. There are usually a lot of recruits in the building on Sunday unofficials. That’s not happening this week. Everyone is completely locked in on getting ready for the home stretch.

Recruiting will continue, obviously, and remains paramount. But the decision was made to avoid visits during such a key time for the program.

The unfortunate part with Wiley is that, unlike Newton and Toney, he isn’t a commit. So the timing is off. But again, this decision applies to every recruit set to visit and is being made for the sole purpose of winning on Saturday, winning next week, and accomplishing the team’s goals for the season.

**** yeah he's flawed. But like you say, who isn't. I don't mind some of the complaints. We all should be able to have SEMI intelligent dialogue. What I mind is all the a people who speak in absolutes that don't know **** about what's ever gone on with our program. Inside or out. All the people who said Mario is no good & kiffin is a top coach, Kelly is a top coach... At no point in time are they capable of coming up with a sound argument to support the nonsense. But that's just what it is. Year after year these corches **** the bed and have PROVEN to not be willing to adapt. Mario has proven he'll adapt. He just wants to win. Won't even get into the constant back and forth with both coordinators. Pretty sure I on here we simply want what we don't have. I even read a comment earlier today where some dude was talkin about upgrades at DC & the ****** guy legit said we should go after alfraud golden... It makes anyone with a brain just constantly stay frustrated and go home and choke a prostitute or something. Start a random bar fight maybe... ***** legit sad you can't have a supposed group of canes fans simply enjoying the reality of a 10-1 season together. Is there negatives? **** YES THERE IS!!! But there's far more positive. No need to ignore one or the other to simply enjoy the season. Hate to see what ***** gonna look like on here next week...

Not to sound like my gramps with the back in my days comments, but legit I think social media has taken a huge role in destroying modern day society. Honestly our best hope was new years 1999 and the belief for some that all technology was gonna go back to the stone age.

I wouldn't go that far, but the ability to say **** about people that you wouldn't say to their face has definitely been a negative.

I foolishly waded into the US Election thread earlier this month and I was legit reading comments that it was a bad thing that people in the UK were being jailed for their Facebook posts / Tweets. Actions should have consequences - if you try to incite a riot you deserve to be detained at his majesty's pleasure. Similar to how Tyson clocked that fool getting in his face for a selfie on a plane, some people just need to be punched in the mouth.

I don't know your kids game & I haven't been introduced to him yet. I know between Dennis, Mike, Baez, cooney and most importantly DNich it's been explained thoroughly the opportunity with us at Will and Sam in particular, even Jack. All it takes is watching the film and seeing the playing time available. I know Mario and DNich think highly of ur kid so I hope he does what's right for him (and for us )so we can welcome him to the family. Cause good lord can I not wait till we start seeing the youngins get a crack.

Myself I'd definitely take it that far. Some of the comments I get from different fan bases, some of the stuff youth is subjected to... I'm not gonna do this. But yeah id take it further.

I think you should have to attach your identity to your profile - you'd need a driving license / passport etc to set up an account.

That'd kill a lot of the problems dead, but yeah not the thread for this discussion so I'll shut up now.

It has because of how it's used. If you can control what people eat and view you can pretty much control their behavior. Social media was meant to share accurate information nowadays a lot of the information is inaccurate also so much hate and discord. In my hometown a high school girl jumped off a bridge because she identified as a ******* and moved in with her grandparent because her mother didn't want her in her house. She was bullied on social media and didn't get any help from anyone. In my day people were bullied from 8 to 3 with social media it's 247. I've heard stories of teens getting nudes leaked on social media from a boy or girl they slept with. People getting cat fishes and killing them self. Social media might end up causing as much harm as some organized religion have caused in the end. But if you ask me I don't think we human beings will be around for another 500 years either.
