What is the average yards per carry in an NCAA FBS game? Hint: it’s around 4.5. Miami’s average on defense was 3.3.

That game where we gave up 3.7 and lost was against Georgia Tech. You’re going to pin that loss on run defense? One of the other losses you mentioned was NCState. You’re pinning that one, a game where we scored 6 points on our rush defense? North Carolina killed us. Louisville did a good job but hardly dominated on the ground. The bowl game was what it was. I don’t really consider that a true measure of our team.

Stopping the run was literally the thing Miami did best last year. Were they the 1985 Bears? No but they were better than 120 teams in FBS last year. Especially considering the defensive line injuries that he last few weeks of the season.
great info, great analysis

it’s not all on one group on why they lose each individual game but you can look at at it and see a pattern for most of the games even excluding outliers.
If Miami stops the run, they most likely win the game.

To get to where they ultimately want to be, Miami will need to stop throwing out DTs who are 280 on a good day to get important reps during games. Recruiting’s helping, but I don’t expect any of them to play major roles this year.

We literally just signed the #1 DL class in America
Yeah which consisted of mostly DE who we know JT got. Only DT we pulled in were Scott (who some say is overrated and played agaisnt weak competition) and Jones (who just started playing football and played in a low classification). Blount is a DE projected at DT. Dylan Russell(most of us wanted him dropped)

The we can move on to his Development. LT nothing. Moten nothing so far. Horton TBD. And everyone else been transfers.

Burroughs was always a ‘24 guy and worth the risk. Cristobal is not on scholarship. Terry Roberts transferred out immediately. Rocky Shelton wasn’t on scholarship. So if it makes You feel better to build this narrative by being disingenuous that’s fine.

Wait so because Robert’s sucked and Burroughs can’t stop playing knockout they don’t count?? Remove Rocky and Little Lou and you’re still hitting under 35% in that class. But you’re right it was a great class and Davis was a baller.

Burroughs was always a risk and wasn’t going to be playing in ‘24. Everyone wanted him. Roberts was spring camp filler and was never taken seriously. Again, it’s your BS narrative.

Ice cream sales and shark attacks peak in the same time frame. Surely, there must be a connection.

You should get the hint.

If Run Defense moves south around spot 80, we can have a discussion about the group.

Till then, any notion about the most unimportant thing in offensive and defensive football is completely useless to talk about and only distracts from the actual reasons why we don't win games.

Especially, when that group was one of the top groups in the country for the entire season.

Those 24 receptions must have been when he was within 5 yards of the WR. To anyone that watched 13 Hurricane games last fall that is laughable. Tez Walker nearly had those numbers alone.
He got beat on a long TD with no safety help. Dez did that to the whole ACC. Kam blew the other big TD on the dig that Guidry said they practice all week and Couch gave up the other. So maybe you didn’t watch as much of the game as your thought.

Ok.

Good response. Really backs up your bull**** take
You are dug in on Davis being good. I understand Tez Walker didn't have all 179 yards on him it was tongue and cheek response. I'm not digging up 2023 game film to verify it was only 24 catches. You win.
