I took Mel Kipers Top 10 OL list for this upcoming draft

I pulled the ON3 composite rankings

15 out of the 30 were Top 260 players overall

12 out of the 30 were Top 150 players overall

9 out of the 30 were Top 100 players overall

I considered 9 out of the 30 as outliers ( outside the top 30 of their position)

Offensive tackles

1. Armand Membou, Missouri- 3 star- 30th IOL

2. Will Campbell, LSU -4 star- 40th overall- 2 IOL

3. Josh Simmons, Ohio State -3 star- 26th IOL

4. Kelvin Banks Jr., Texas - 5 star- 22nd overall- 2 IOL

5. Josh Conerly Jr., Oregon - 4 star- 38th overall- 5 OT

6. Aireontae Ersery, Minnesota - 3 star- 96th OT

7. Ozzy Trapilo, Boston College- 4 star- 182 overall- 21

8. Anthony Belton, NC State -3 Star -JUCO - 7th OT

9. Charles Grant, William & Mary- 0 star

10. Cameron Williams, Texas - 4 star- 243 overall- 15th

7 out of 10 guards were 4 or 5 star and top 140 overall players

Guards

1. Tyler Booker, Alabama- 5 star- 30th overall- 3 OT

2. Grey Zabel, North Dakota State- 0 star

3. Donovan Jackson, Ohio State- 5 star -14th overall- 1

4. Marcus Mbow, Purdue- 3 star- 97th OT

5. Jonah Savaiinaea, Arizona -3 star- 50th IOL

6. Dylan Fairchild, Georgia- 4 star- 108 overall- 6th IOL

7. Wyatt Milum, WestVirginia-4 star-137th overall-17OT

8. Tate Ratledge, Georgia- 4 star- 41st overall- 4th OT

9. Emery Jones Jr., LSU- 4 star- 100th overall- 6th IOL

10. Connor Colby, Iowa -4 star- 133 overall- 15th OT

Centers

1. Jared Wilson, Georgia- 4 star- 211 overall- 13th IOL
2. Jonah Monheim, USC- 4 star- 344 overall- 30th OT
3. Drew Kendall, BC- 4 star- 141 overall- 8th IOL
4. Seth McLaughlin, Ohio State- 3 star- 24th IOL
5. Joshua Gray, Oregon State- 3 star- 48th IOL
6. Willie Lampkin, North Carolina- 3 star- 140th IOL
7. Jake Majors, Texas- 4 star- 260th overall- 10th IOL
8. Jackson Slater, Sacramento State- 0 star
9. Eli Cox, Kentucky- 3 star- 83rd IOL
10. Clay Webb, Jack State -5 star- 18th overall-2nd IOL

And do it by percentage. Remeber, only 32 players end up 5 stars and a total of 425 or so 4 stars. Every player after that is 3 stars or lower and there are thousands. So the percentage of 5 and 4 stars drafted over 3 stars and lower is much higher.

So we have a better OL than who here?

Alabama
Georgia
Michigan
Ohio State
Notre Dame
Texas
LSU
Oregon
Penn State

We have a top 5-7 offensive line on the country. Francis, Cooper and Mccoy were all recruited by Mario/Mirabal at the high school level. They found Bell out of nowhere, so that's another one. Probably every single 2nd string linemen would start would start at another power 4 school
How do you take someone that hits send on this serious?

Is your argument we need to land more blue chip prospects across the OL or that we do not have a good OL. Not all OLs have to have 4* or 5* players, although we have landed some of these types as well. I’m not saying M&M are clearly heads above the other schools and their OL recruiting; it’s clear they are not. But they continue to find guys who fit their offensive scheme and system…and did a helluva job keeping Ward clean most of last season. Personally I believe the OL is going to be a huge strength for the Canes in 2025/2026.
No, I am arguing against those who say Mario/Mirabal are the best OL recruiters in the country. They are not, it's a fact. It's not even close.

The OL is without question good, but not top 5 like a lot claim. Point is people here act like we can't question them when it comes to the OL takes. They are not on that level.

Alabama’s OL has been pretty *** the last 2 seasons, and that’s with transfers starting. We finished with a better sack %, and better rush YPG and YPA than them the past 2 seasons, and better than UGA in those categories THIS season. Idk about the others, didn’t feel like looking it up but probably better than LSU in the rushing categories as well. The other schools, probably not lol.

Can we recruit better? Absolutely. And by better we mean more blue chips. But if the OL continues to perform no worse than a pretty good level (not elite) like they have been the past 2 seasons, then I don’t really care lol. I guess the hope could be more blue chips and the line could be even better, sure. But we have much much much bigger problems than the OL, IMO.

Also, idgaf how we acquire them, portal or HS. Idc if they pass a rule that allows NFL players to come back for 4 games. Just win on Saturdays.

Well Rodriquez already started games for us, so there's one. Samson and Kinsler without a doubt would start at some other power 4 schools. SJ Alofaituli would 100%. Minaya could definitely start on like a Wake Forest, or a Duke or a Cincinnati. So no, its really not that crazy lol

Based on what?

I agree with almost all of this. The point I am making is, people non stop say Mario/Alex are the best OL recruiters and they are not, period.

As far as the numbers, you have to factor who we played versus those other schools this year. Our schedule was a joke versus them.

1.) You don’t have a **** clue who tried to poach them
2.) Even if they did try to poach them, that doesn’t mean they’d walk in and start.

But I see you have your mind made up, so I’m gonna let you cook.

Well those two are likely are starters in 2026 after Francis and Bell are off to the NFL, so you better start liking them lol. One of them if not both will see playing time this year as well. Only a few other programs in the country can say they have 2nd string lineman of that caliber lol

Lol. Have you been a fan for 3 years? Off the top of my head, these are guys who I remeber were blue chip OL who got drafted. And we never signed a lot of blue chip OL. Know your Canes history.

Ereck Flowers
Orlando Franklin
Jason Fox
Eric Winston
Brandon Linder
Seantrel Henderson

Eric Winston was signed as a tight end. Meaning, he was a 0-star tackle. Keep his name out of your mouth.

I agree the OL has produced, I never argued that. My argument is for the idiots who say he is the best OL recruiter and we can't question it. Nah, we can. High school OL recruiting through 3 years is mid as ****.

And it's not false. How many of Marios high school recruits have started over transfers or non Mario high school recruits?
The 4 of the 5 starters are his recruits

And still produce good o-lines so what does that say? Either he is a good evaluator or him and Mirable are just good at coaching them up. Only 2 of the 5 starters last year was 4 star or higher. So basically you shouldn’t worry about those guys and o-line
This. Yet here we are

Yea I said before Mario not 1993 when he graduated you ******* idiot

Why would any of the players you listed be of relevance in this discussion.. Mario was an assistant at Bama and we had ****e head Golden/NO D Nofrio
