Byrd and Williams were a kick in the balls but this is a strong transition class. Look at those classes historically.

Quarterman, Jackson, McCloud, Pinkney, Bruce, Homer, Mullins, Allison, Finley-- these are real players. Looking forward to Richards making it official and ending this on a good note.

And all he's really done is hold together a "portion" of Golden's recruits. He's also lost one of the best recruits in the class. Color me unimpressed.

This "transition" class is nothing more than retaining kids already strong UM committs and cut some dead weight. Terrible effort thus far. He better win next year.

He held everybody he wanted except Byrd. And the guys he kept were highly sought after guys. Again, we need to compare apples to apples. This stacks up with the transition classes of other powers, especially when the previous coach was fired for performance.

Richt is proven as a recruiter. If he can produce on the field, we will stack top classes. My biggest concern is that we dropped good local players like Phillips and Wiggins.

People ****ting on Byrd are the same people who **** on Bridgewater. It's the new coach's job to keep the top guys on our board in the fold. One of these days our fanbase will have standards again. Don't know when, but hopefully it happens soon.

I am have been a long time Canes fan however I am a realistic one. Mark Richt is going through an adjustment period where he will realize that he is recruiting in SF against all of the major programs in the country, this is not GA, and I thinks he is already realizing it. having said that, I am awaiting our season and will then judge our current staff accordingly. Having said all of that and as relates to this year's recruiting by our current staff, I feel that Richt's staff has done a phenomenal job. Cases in point: These guys in less than 30 days have addressed and solidified our team in the LB's, Safeties, DE's, TE's, QB, RB's and the WR corps with the upcoming addition of Richards, seven different areas in less than a month!!. All they will have to focus next year are on DL, OL, CB's. I do not understand how those of you that are complaining fail to see this? Just think how much worse we would have been at this point in time with the old regime. My how you guys are spoiled already!

Don't know why you consider Finley, Young, Bethel Golden recruits.

 

Too many people had high expectations and weren't being real. We missed out on Byrd and Williams to UT but everyone loses recruits on NSD. Other than the hiccup we kept everyone else on our board, Also remember many didn't expect Richards to be in this class and if the reports are true we are getting him which IMO is huge.

The truth is Golden left Richt with a very small limited class and is closing the best he can. Also note, there aren't any FIU rejects in this class, most if not all were sought after except for James who is a legacy guy. No more hand-me-downs.

If we want to be big dogs we need to start winning.
