Miami targeting Houston's Zac Etheridge for DB coach

Per CBS Sports, Miami is targeting Houston's Zac Etheridge for its DB coach position.

In 2024, Houston ranked 22nd nationally in passing yards allowed against FBS opponents. Houston's 2,266 passing yards allowed were its fewest in a full season in 30 years. Just yesterday, Etheridge had been promoted to defensive pass game coordinator for the Cougars.

Etheridge was previously a finalist for the Louisiana-Monroe head coaching job. At Auburn, he coached three players this year who earned Senior Bowl invites and as well as 2022 second-round pick Roger McCreary.

Etheridge is a Troy, Alabama native who was a team captain on Auburn’s 2010 national championship team. He spent three seasons (2021-23) as the Tigers' Secondary Coach. In February 2022, he was promoted to Associate Head Coach. He also spent time at Louisiana (CB coach) and Western Carolina (CB/OLB coach).

Ya I check for all their info and have for years. @gogeta4 my main main on here too…And no beef with RVA. I just don't like being addressed a certain way. But hey it's a message board. Whatever

Nah, this is not correct.
Lots of folks initially slurped his every word stated. I remember plenty of "he gets it" comments and there were fools who showed up to games wearing the JoePa outfits including ties.
In fairness, we were in the midst of the Nevin Shapiro scandal, so it was understandable folks were giving Golden and staff much leeway.
There were detractors, of course, many pointing to Jason Whitlock's criticism of Golden winning because he coached at a program with more resources vs his MAC opponents.
It's ok to admit many had it wrong, myself included.
