Miami steals DB Coach Will Harris from Gators

After defeating the Gators 41-17 in August, the Miami Hurricanes have secured another victory over their rival by landing DB coach Will Harris.

The 36-year-old Harris, who will lead the safety room at Miami, is considered one of the best young defensive backs coaches in America.

Harris joined the Gators for the 2024 season after serving as the assistant DB coach for the Los Angeles Chargers. The Gators improved +63 spots in pass efficiency defense and +83 spots in interceptions per game under Harris.

Before his stint in the NFL, Harris spent one season as defensive coordinator at Georgia Southern. He previously coached eight NFL Draft picks at the University of Washington.

After some e-beefing, two Canesport posters agreed to have a quarrel to settle their differences at "The Rat."

One of the posters said he was going to wear a pinwheel hat, so he was easily identifiable. I am pretty sure he posted from the bar, eagerly awaiting his foe. Like silk and jgay, I don't think anything came of the situation.

Nonetheless, the pinwheel hat always made me laugh, because I thought @TheOriginalCane was the one wearing it. Turns out he wasn't even involved.

Good times. I love the boards, and hope they never change.

The funniest thing about all of the interwebz beefs is that I'm pretty laid back. Yes, I don't back down in an online argument when I'm right. And yes, I can type like a speed-demon.

But all of the CIS guys who have met me in real-life can tell you that I'm very easygoing.

I once had a misunderstanding with litee. Fsuwho helped to solve that and get us to meet up in person. I think the world of litee.

I'm a lover, not a fighter. Or maybe it's better to say I don't start fights.

And the boards are supposed to be good fun.

Oh, yeah, that guy was hugely entertaining. He also had a crazy hatred for John Ruiz, telling everyone how Ruiz was connected to the mob and was committing all kinds of crimes.

The story about how someone shot up his car at 595 and University was legendary. Very few things unite Miami and Florida fans like searching police incident reports to rebut someone's "false valor" over a driveby.

To me, he was the modern-day Oscar Zeta Acosta, the Brown Buffalo. If you are a degenerate Hunter S. Thompson fan the way that I am, you'll get the reference immediately.
