And sometimes it's OK not to post your bull**** overreactions. It would also make your other posts have more meaning, instead of being a schticky act.

Would love it if a couple other posters on here bought into this approach, too. I've never had an issue with the critics. It's the incessant, unrelated potshots that are draining.

As far as Harris, specifically, is concerned, I'm fine with Angry questioning the quality of a DB coach we "stole" from a coaching staff we have no respect for. On its surface, that seems like hypocrisy. But as you point out, no one said everything about UF was absolute trash, they were ridiculing specific failures of that program. Mario's has been after this particular coach for years, unrelated to Billy and the Gator. And Harris has done some quality work on both the recruiting and development front, and IMO at least, those UF DBs did look better as the season went along. So I think it's equally fair for a pro-Mario fan to celebrate the hire. I don't see it as hypocritical or drinking the Kool Aid.

My 0.02 is that we tried proven but maybe a little too comfortable coaches with Steele, Strong and Addae, then went for strivers like Guidry and Jackson, and now are testing the "hot" coaches. I'm not sure it's going to be all work out perfectly this time around, it didn't the last two attempts. But I do like Mario's decisiveness, and relentlessness in making changes until he finds the winning formula. That's an attitude that has been sorely missing for 2 decades.

Fair. The majority of the board is actions/reactions. What I find extremely interesting is some of the people commenting on schtick or antics very much love to post their reactions -- but not in strong data driven threads against their loyalties. We are multiple staffs in to the Mario regime in year 4 -- we will know how it plays out, when it plays out --- but we hired a DC, and then the two celebrated hires for his side of the ball are clearly Mario picks (from schools the board relentlessly clowns at almost all levels - including recruiting at Florida this cycle), plus we heard here that JT stays whether Mario likes it or not -- so to our discussion earlier -- no excuses - just win.

Welcome aboard coach. Get after it.

I agree with you 1000%

On paper his year 1 staff was legendary but this year's staff should actually get the results we need.

I love this defensive staff. My only 'concern' is Hetherman, simply because Ive seen good DCs come to Coral Gables, completely sh*t the bed, and then leave CG only to be successful again.. I'm being a b*tch, I know, but I need to see him do it down here first.

I can't stand Mario on gameday. Win or Loss that MF just finds a way to ruin my day. But, I'll give him this, he addresses his teams issues (coaches and players) with the same intensity as he does recruiting.

Prime example: pass defense. We were trash last year. Its a couple weeks before spring ball and our DB room (coaches and players) looks completely different.
For real some proven coaches on defense with the assistant hires just hope they all gel together, you never know until these games get played tho

More passive-aggressive nonsense. "Not in strong data driven threads against their loyalties". What a word-salad pile of crap.

Again, I realize that you can't see through your biases and jihads, but the reason that people are "celebrating" these last two hires is because of the additional fun of who we hired these guys from. Zac Etheridge is a good coach, but not many people are interested in taunting Houston fans. The anti-Florida/Colorado humor doesn't make Lewis/Harris "better" coaches, it just allows us to laugh at Neon Deion and Slingblade Billy.

Yes, it's possible to walk and chew gum at the same time. It's possible to hate Florida and Colorado and still acknowledge that they might have one or two worthwhile assistant coaches. And it is certainly possible to laugh at other schools as we steal their coaches and/or recruits while also comprehending that the coach we just hired is not the second coming of Nick Saban.

You want "data driven threads"? For every coach hired, I've seen a ton of discussion about past jobs and statistical production. It's just Rorschach rejects like you who see Mario-worship in every inkblot. You confuse relief/happiness that failed coaches are being replaced with Mario-worship. You confuse laughing/taunting of Florida and Colorado with Mario-worship. It's just weird.

Relax. Let people have a bit of fun without you attacking everyone for being hypocritical Mario-lovers. No matter how good/bad the resumes are, these coaches need to be able to work together. Time will tell.

Austin Armstrong (DC) took a lateral move to Houston.

Will Harris (DBs) took a lateral move to Miami.

Gerald Chatman (DLs) interviewed for a lateral move to the NFL, and may still leave (Harris interviewed with Texas before taking the job with Miami).

The only guy who is "staying" on the defensive staff (other than Racist Ron Roberts) is Mike Peterson. A Gator alum, and nearly his entire resume involves "working at Florida", outside of a stint with former Gators head coach Will Muschamp at South Carolina. The guy is a Gator Lifer, I'd expect him to be less bothered by overtly racist behavior.
So Austin Armstrong left because Roberts is a racist and not because he wanted to call the defensive plays and stand on his own?

I'd imagine Harris is getting paid more at Miami.

Chatman leaving for the NFL is a lateral move? LOL.

How does racism explain the new black coach who just left a DC job for a DB coach job at Florida?

These takes are wild.

What's wild is your density.

Some new-hire coach may be unaware of what has been happening at Florida. I don't care about the ignorance and lack of due-diligence and dollar-signs-in the-eyes of anyone that Florida hires. It's pretty funny that you think that hiring a black coach somehow whitewashes a white coach and renders him blameless and innocent of anything he may have done before. "Because a black coach was just hired".

As for Austin Armstrong, he was already calling the defensive plays and standing on his own. He was the DC. He went to Houston for the same job.

Harris did not just interview at Miami.

And Chatman going to the NFL would absolutely be a lateral job, it's not a promotion. It may involve more money. I'm not sure your limited intellect and vocabulary comprehends what a lateral move is. The point is simple, he interviewed for another job. Do you think that's because he is happy at Florida? Both SEC position coaches and first-time NFL position coaches are paid a few hundred thousand per year, the salary differential is not enormous.

But, sure, keep denying what's going on. Because you have invented three separate reasons why three separate coaches have left or are trying to leave. It all must be a horrible coincidence.

You could have just used the "Agree" emoji instead of getting upset.

Who were the kids the article was discussing following Harris to Miami?

My guy is doing deep deep hits from the message board bong and it is starting to rot the brain.

I'll drop it because I agree we should put the thread back on track, but accusing someone of racism because a couple of position coaches left and one (who is still there) tried to leave is weak sauce.
