They most certainly can be worse

But in cases like Patterson, Aguirre, Scott etc I think those guys are so clearly talented that you take those as learning experiences because the ceilings are so high

If the starter in front of them is making the same mistakes then let’s just move on

Yup. Patterson for sure should start next week. I have concerns about Popo in the passing game and concerns about Scott against the run, but it isn't like the alternatives are flourishing in those spots right now. I think FSU is going to try to ball control and run the ball against us, so that should give Guidry opportunities to get Popo on the field with Wes and Kiko which is where I think he's best suited right now. On a somewhat related note I think CJ Clark has started to turn the corner at DT the last couple of games. He drew a holding flag against UL and made a real nice stuff on a run.

Was talking to someone about Clark earlier today. Said the same thing I thought that was his best game of the year

Not sure if he’s been dealing with injuries or not but he had some good reps

If Clark can play starter level reps going forward I think it helps out the defense a ton. Will keep guys fresher and allow Mesidor more reps at DE. If the defense ever plays well enough that we get ahead by 2+ scores in the 4th quarter I think that's when Scott will really show out this year rushing the passer.

Also saw that Bell got the highest PFF grade for the OL for the 20 plays he was in.

I have wanted Clark in at DT over #3. 3 is just too little and not strong enough inside for the run game. IMO
