Miami officially Flips 2026 OT Joel Ervin

2026 3-star OT Joel Ervin announced his commitment to the University of Miami today, flipping from Louisville.

“I think right now is the perfect time [to commit] because a lot of guys aren’t committed, and I want to commit early and target some more players,” said Ervin.

Ervin has all the measurables for a high-end O-Line prospect. The Fort Myers product measures in at 6-foot-6, 330 pounds with 11.5-inch hands an 88 inch wingspan. Such tools are comparable and even better than most of the NFL draft prospects this year. Moreover, he appears to carry the weight with lean mass.

Ervin was offered last May, visiting for multiple games and locking in an official visit this June. He was also in attendance for spring practice this week as the ’Canes continue to lock down recruits following unofficials.

The staff believes this O-Line class to be one of the best in recent memory, continuing to pursue 5-stars Jackson Cantwell and Keenyi Pepe and a plethora of other four and three stars, evident with the aggressiveness in flipping Ervin.

Both offensive line commits (Ervin and Congdon) possess the tools you can’t teach with their height and frame being some of the best in the class. With O-Line gurus Alex Mirabal and Mario Cristobal, the sky's the limit for Ervin, Congdon, and future recruits to develop at the U.

Ervin becomes Miami’s seventh 2026 commit alongside Javian Mallory, Jaelen Waters, Ben Congdon, Dereon Coleman, Jordan Campbell, and Camdin Portis.

its the reason for my profile photo.

I was in middle and high school when the wire and sopranos dropped and my friends use to come to the house spend the night to watch the shows...(yea we were way to advanced in street/mafia culture) lol

Not combine measurements, so who knows how accurate it really is. But anything above 11" is great.

I'll get ahead of @DMoney on this and say Orlando Franklin will be the comp going forward.
Franklin was 6'7" 320" coming out of Delray Beach. Ended up measuring 6'6" 316lbs with 35" arms and 11 1/8" hands at the combine

I very much doubt this dude is actually those measurments, but, if he's anything close, dude is built like ******* Amarius Mims. Lets hope hes even 80% the athlete Mims was.

I want to clarify, I'm not denying 11.5 inch hands.

But like you said, anything close is a welcomed addition!

I give Mario so much credit for changing the physicality of our OL. Long gone are the days of watching DL from Clemson, LSU and Wisconsin beat the literal dog**** out of our OL.

He needs to put this same focus on our interior DL, but the OL revamp has been huge.

We need a 5* DT in this class badly.
