Miami lands premier WR Hightower

The dominoes continue to fall for Miami's 2018 recruiting class, as one of the nation's premier receiver prospects Brian Hightower announced his commitment to the Hurricanes on Wednesday night.

The 6-2, 200 pound IMG Academy WR told CanesInSight on Sunday that he was waiting until June 20th to commit, but took to Twitter on Wednesday to announce those intentions a bit earlier than expected. 247sports ranks Hightower as the #6 WR in the country and #40 player nationally. He is originally from Calabasas, California.

Hightower joins Daquris Wiggins as the two receiver commits in the class and also joins his IMG teammate and quarterback Artur Sitkowski in Miami's class. The Canes are making a strong push for IMG offensive lineman Curtis Dunlap as well.

Congrats to your family and nephew on this great day brother. He is getting a lot of love on twitter right now. What you said about the pressure these kids are under from coaches just shows how fuc#ked the recruiting process is. It should be a great time in these kids lives and instead they deal with so much BS. This class is something serious fellas, wish it was Feb 2018 right now .

Reed cousin said that besides Cleveland that it was Dunlap, Hightower and Tyreke Johnson that were the most blown away by the visit.

Not going to get my hopes up, but if we somehow land Tyreke Johnson.. Wow. 5 star and easily one of the best safeties in the country.

I think in the end we will have Wiggins, Hightower, Pope and Moore. If they want to take 5 and their is an elite kid than that's anyone's guess for the 5th spot.

The focus is solely on Mark Pope and Xavier Williams now to round out the receiver class. Outside chance with Thompson, but Austin and Moore are backup plans at this moment.

4 is still the expected number at receiver.
