Miami lands premier WR Hightower

The dominoes continue to fall for Miami's 2018 recruiting class, as one of the nation's premier receiver prospects Brian Hightower announced his commitment to the Hurricanes on Wednesday night.

The 6-2, 200 pound IMG Academy WR told CanesInSight on Sunday that he was waiting until June 20th to commit, but took to Twitter on Wednesday to announce those intentions a bit earlier than expected. 247sports ranks Hightower as the #6 WR in the country and #40 player nationally. He is originally from Calabasas, California.

Hightower joins Daquris Wiggins as the two receiver commits in the class and also joins his IMG teammate and quarterback Artur Sitkowski in Miami's class. The Canes are making a strong push for IMG offensive lineman Curtis Dunlap as well.

FYI.. General thoughts on how this could pan out

Gammage - Possibly a grades causality

Thompson - IMO FSU

Moore - needs a big Senior year to get an offer

Williams - tough flip from Bama but I think we land him. If not we offer Moore or Watt

Williams named us number three after Bama and OSU according to 247. I doubt he comes after not showing up for junior day.

All this momentum is great. I hope coach Richt is showing the current players this stuff and asking them to commit to winning so these guys stay on board. Not in those words but all this momentum in recruiting must be balanced with wins in the '18 season. We have to be in a10 win season scenario for this to matter imo.

We have many great receivers as targets and very few spots left. Who wants to be a Cane more than the others will be committing next. I'm not sure how long Richt will wait on those other receivers and I doubt he will accept "silents" anymore.

This staff is SPECIAL and ELITE when it comes to getting talent on campus repeatedly. These guys are clearly hard workers and its starting to pay dividends.
