Miami Hurricanes flip four-star CB Ai'King Hall from Oregon

A week removed from flipping five-star cornerback Donte Wright from Georgia, the Miami Hurricanes have made another major flip landing 2027 four-star Ai'King Hall.

Ranked as the No. 1 player coming out of Alabama this cycle, Hall's recruitment surged this offseason, going from a largely unranked prospect to a highly-touted top-100 prospect.

The 5-foot-11, 190-pound defensive back was previously committed to Oregon since April, but Miami quietly got to work on flipping the Dothan, AL product.

This recruitment was kept under considerable wraps over the past few weeks as the Canes gained more and more momentum before landing his pledge while on campus earlier today.

Looking at his film, his ranking surge becomes clear with his technical ability. Hall excels at tracking opposing receivers with polished instincts on the ball.

The four-star has great footwork to break on routes and make quick transitions in both man and zone coverage.

Moreover, Hall brings true speed on the sidelines with a verified 10.8 100-meter time, returning punts for his high school team.

His press coverage work is some of the best in the class, jamming receivers behind the line of scrimmage with a 78-inch wingspan and giving them headaches all four quarters.

Hall becomes Miami's 12th commit in the 2027 class, joining Wright, Jaylyn Jones, and Sherrod Gourdine as part of the Canes' secondary haul for this cycle.

With more secondary targets in the works for the Hurricanes, this cycle has the chance to be Cristobal's best secondary haul so far in his Miami tenure.

Yea some of the stuff is next level, anyone losing sleep over Matthews has not watched his commitment video. There is no way I will ever be mad at something after I saw that. Especially with the season we just had and the culture thats been built. I used to think culture was just a bs word, now I know it isn't

I agree he is a weird fit at Bama but I also strongly disagree that he has been a failure at 'Bama. The expectations there do not match reality, especially since the playing field has been leveled.

This is a great point. They don’t understand that the recruiting and competition game has changed so much with the portal and NIL since saban retired that it’s not like it was. Look at UGA now.

Saban was already struggling before he retired. They had not won a title since 2020/2021 and were not favorites when he retired. Their brain was stuck in pre covid mindset. That's been over

It hasn’t registered there yet though. They think changing a 9-10 win coach will make them the top dog again and it isn’t like that. The gators were in NYE bowl games for two out of four years Mullen was there and it got worse. Way worse. It’s a different day. A few people get mad at Mario for missing on recruits sometimes and it’s just not what it was before the portal and NIL.
