The Hurricanes made two moves to shore up their special teams on Saturday, with the commitments of Long Snapper Adam Booker and Kicker/Kickoff Specialist Carter Davis.

The 6'4, 205-pound Booker, a North Carolina native who previously played at Charlotte, had a 98 percent snap grade and recorded three tackles in his two seasons.

Davis was a kickoff specialist for FAU the past two seasons and posted an 81-percent touchback rate this season (45/61). The 6', 210-pound graduate of Western High School in Broward County also hit a 51-yard field goal.

I know people are clowning on this but we were dog crap on kick coverage this year and it cost us. That said, I have no idea if these guys can help.

Not being a smarta**, but does 81% touchbacks on kickoffs make the kid 'elite'(as Dennis said)?

Davis average kickoff was 63.9 yards.
Borregales: 63.7 yards

Davis had a touchback on 45/61 (73.7%) of his kickoffs
Borregales: 59/91 (64.8%)

That .2 yards difference between Davis and Borregales might not seem like a lot, but it is.

Most of the kickers who averaged at least 64.3 yards, had touchback rates in the 80s. Davis is only short of that mark by 1.2 feet.

How are we feeling at PK? We've been spoiled for the last 5 years. We're gonna miss Borregales.
