Not intentionally.

Carpenter was not a heralded transfer after mustering honorable mention his final year at IU. He was not included among the 9 ACC centers nominated for the Rimington. Rodriguez has gotten all the praise in camp. We've never heard glowing endorsment of Carpenter from Mirabal aside from a "shoes to fill' comment made before camp. If McCoy is healthy (he sat out the final scrimmage according to the highlights) then I do believe Rodriguez may have beaten out Carpenter for the center spot.
Carpenter is starting. Rodriguez has been mentioned as a guy who has carved out a role as a backup. If carpenter doesn’t play well maybe then he gets a shot

I could see this... There was a ton of smoke in Spring that Samson could be looking around. By all accounts he is compensated well but obviously wants to play. The injury def set him back in terms of strength so I think he was running second team which pushed him to look around more but I think he came on strong and answered the call for fall camp. For game 1 though I could see McCoy and if I was betting it would be McCoy, 3rd year player, more experience, has at least played some and would not surprise me if Samson takes over by mid year if he keeps up his progression like he has from Spring to Fall. Samson IMO would need to be in front by a wide margin to have his first real college snaps be on the road at the gator.
Samson said out his mouth he wasn’t concerned about starting and he just wanted to work on his game and get better

And my guy what do you expect him to say? If I dont start I am going to leave? Of course he said that, he knew those questions were coming and Mario has all these boys reading off scripts for the interviews.

no he wasn’t even asked about it lol y’all be reaching hard. Y’all think everybody is looking to jump and transfer if they don’t start right away. He seems like a smart dude and he likely knows he isn’t quite ready yet. So why not keep getting good coaching while getting paid good

What do you mean? Mario might be one of the worst time management coaches I've ever seen.
I wasn’t implying he had it under control, I’m just wondering what his actual responsibilities are. There seems to be somebody else to manage every tiny detail.

Know what, never mind. I think a time management coach is silly, but I can see everybody else thinks it’s brilliant. Carry on.
