Great basketball team but he cheated. The players aren’t the culprits. Not all but some are.

Amateur athletes don’t get paid. Olympic athletes did not get paid. Introduce money and they are now professional athletes.

Introduce money and slowly the game will die. People will lose interest. Games become corporate and unaffordable. We are here for almost all sports now.

Nobody ever forced an athlete to sigh a LOI instead of joining the workforce out of high school. Room and board, meals, and an education get expensive so it’s a lot more than your MI example.

NCAA is to me at fault.
Tark didn't cheat any more than Saban, it's just Saban had his butt buddy Emmert as the head of the NCAA while Tark told the National Communist Athletic Assocation to go **** themselves. Absolutely love his quote that the NCAA was so mad at Kentucky they gave Cleveland State 2 more years of probation!

Why are you arguing with a Fraggle inspired troll?

True.

Like I said though I blame the NCAA. I also think if you pay players they all need to be paid down the roster. I don’t like current system and would pay them all the same.

Nobody has advantage. Kind of back to square one then.

Easy does it James. I never once made fun of the bromance you are having with @JHallCanes

It’s cute but I try not to judge. Oh you like mine and I will 😂 yours…I get misty eyed I really do.

We have differing opinions that’s all. I don’t think troll means what you think it means. In fact that’s a fact.

She looks just like Janet Jackson

Again, I don’t disagree with your premise, but that premise ignores free market principles, which apply to every person, athlete or otherwise, except college athletes because the schools and NC2A were greedy, and because some fans preferred the game in the unpaid form. But that premise ignores free market capitalism which in every other arena allows a person to maximize their earning potential.

Indeed, young tennis players and golfers can make all the money they want as they don’t need to entertain college fans in order to move into their pro careers. But I am asking you to step out of your shoes as a fan and look at this issue as if you were a player and then ask yourself what is right. And yes maybe NIL will destroy the game you love, but you loved a game which allowed for the exploitation of athletes with no financial recourse. I also ask that you look at the economic principles that govern the US economy, and then ask yourself whether it is right to prohibit this very small group of people from making money, while allowing everyone else to do so.

For just a moment step out of your shoes and walk in someone else’s and let me know then how you feel. it may change your perspective.

Is the truck in the room with us?

For the record I was just messing around. I think we are all guys here that’s just what guys do

You’ve got points about how NIL is but same time it’s just too late to fight it

even Paul finbaum makes remarks about saban cheating lol

I love this but I also worry about families relying on the kids money. this kid to me is very special as far as natural talent, I hope he stays hungry. seems like he plays for his family. thats not a bad thing.

Sure but it looks like he bought her an F-Pace not a Urus. % of his 3-4 yr NIL money is going to be pretty miniscule

Something tells me there will be a landmark case that backpays all athletes for NIL.

It will be long, convoluted, and will take years.

@TheOriginalCane I need a lawyer to weigh in on this projection.

My brother in law was the face of Troy Athletics for years and is looking into it. His buddy just got a check from Auburn for something similar.

It's certainly cool buying your mom a vehicle to show your appreciation for everything she's done for you. I probably would have done the same for my mom in these kids shoes. Doesn't make it a good decision, of course, and isn't even close to "taking care" of your mom to buy them a needlessly expensive vehicle far outside their budget, and provides no long-term value... but if you are basically living with all expenses covered for the next 4 years and making substantial income... Could be spending it dumber than buying your mom a car. Hey at least he bought it before the tariffs! lol
