Nix is top 100
That’s his 247 ranking. I always use composite score when discussing player rankings. He’s our 2nd highest rated on the composite at #169 after Elijah at #143.

To put into context, the only commit we had inside the 300 in composite at this time last year was Chance Robinson before getting commitments from Lightfoot, Jojo and Jones in the first 2 weeks of July. Lofton was just outside 300 and Pruitt was near 500. Mack was committed but at the time outside top 600 before having his big rise during season/all star game.

The Canes continued their hot streak with the commitment of prized LB Gavin Nix. The 6’, 225-pound Nix is a consensus four-star prospect anf the leader on a loaded IMG defense. He is the 7th player Mario Cristobal has signed from the football factory, joining TE Riley Williams, TE Jaleel Skinner, OT Francis Mauigoa, OG Antonio Tripp, DE Jayden Wayne and EDGE Malik Bryant.

Nix, who some have compared to Jonathan Vilma because of his speed and cerebral nature, chose Miami over FSU and Oregon.

Nix is the 15th commitment in the 2025 class, joining QB Luke Nickel, RB Girard Pringle, TE Brock Schott, TE Luka Gilbert, OT Jaden Wilkerson, OT Demetrius Campbell, OG TK Muex, OG Max Buchanan, DE Herbert Scroggins, LB Elijah Melendez, LB Ezekiel Marcelin, DB Amari Wallace, DB Tim Merritt and CB Chris Ewald.

Fireworks indeed!

Now they just gotta step it up with the skill positions and all will be good.

HOE WELL...Dont care.

The Central Florida (Orlando) insurgence this class has never been done before..we planted a huge flag in Gator/FSU territory with one more big dawg out there might land.

@DMoney , @LuCane , @itsdolphhh , @SpikeUM @rccollins @TRick72 @miamian01

Ive seen the Jon Vilma comps but i think Jon was a lot longer (pause) being 6'1+....

This kid tape is eerily similar to Stephen Tulloch.
