Has Mario Cristobal overhauled the roster? (OFFENSE)

I think going forward the future is looking good. Despite any deficiencies Mario might possess as a coach he’s bringing in “talent” who believe in what Mario’s plan is and want to be part of it. And we’re talking players with multiple offers from top schools. Even though we havnt mattered in years I think Mario will resurrect the U. Can’t question where his “heart” is.

Regardless of what you think of Mario, the talent he’s brought in last 24 months has been nothing short of elite. Better than any coach at UM since Butch left us high and dry.

Regardless of what happens, the job as a whole will be 10X more attractive (funding, talent, facilities) IF Mario doesn’t get it done.

Recruiting an elite player >> buying one in the open market for a one year rental (QB 👀). I'm pumping the brakes on glorifying Mario's improvement of the QB room.
Have you ever watched Cam Ward play? Mario needs to win this year not develop a 5 star QB who may or may not be great

Buying a proven QB on the open market is your safest bet. Better to get 2-3 yrs but top rated fresh are flight risks if they dont play and fresh QBS play very little.

I agree that the room as a whole is still mediocre. The 2025 QB is not on the roster. Luckily it doesn't matter this year.

Likely not, but you can't say that today.

Look at a kid like Brady Cook....couldn't play over Connor Ballsack his first or 2nd year and Ballsack was only 1 year older.

Ballsack bounces, Cook has developed into one of the better QBs in the country.

I don't think anyone at Mizzouri would have told you in 2020 or 2021 that Cook was their QB of the future. But he developed.

I'm with you, there's nothing I saw from Williams last year that made me think he's definitely the guy, but he was always more of a developmental kid and was thrust into action last year, and started 2 games against the best 2 defenses we played all year. I don't think any of us can say he can't make a major leap this year learning under Ward and become a good player in 2025. Just too early to say definitively at this point, but yeah for sure they'll be targeting another portal kid next year to come in and compete.

You're probably right overall. Cam has to stay healthy and we hopefully get Luke N next year. We may need another elite rental next year, but I'm getting ahead of myself.
