I think you don’t cut Russell for the non football player aspects. He’s been committed since May. Hasn’t flittered around with other schools and is from an Important high school. I think it’s been mentioned the culture aspect with bringing this kid in to develop.

Gotta imagine it was a Blount Vs Jackson based on spots. He committed with out staffs knowledge. And no that spots are limited which one you free up? The former or the kid that committed outta the blue without a heads up…
I don’t get the thought process. We shouldn’t be taking kids who aren’t as good as others simply because they went to Columbus and are good guys. If we were to do that why not McGahee given the obvious?

B/c he publicly committed to them w/o them expecting it. My guess from what others have posted is that they decided to not turn him away there, but would if others wanted on board. Not sure if they conveyed that to him at the time, but hopefully for his sake they did.
but its a kid we chased and it worked. he wanted in. drop the worse kid for the better talent. the columbus favoritism is annoying sometimes.

I sure there are other things that they have to worry about like dropping kids last minute. A lot easier to justify that for someone who committed when they didnt have the green light.

then why did we send him paperwork?

why take his commitment literally 10 days ago if youre gonna drop him? just seems like a bad move
Not sure the staff accepted the commitment but doing it this way you don't totally embarass the kid unlike making him reverse 5 minutes later would have done.

What do I do in the whale chart? If someone dropped someone I need to know who, how to score it, I need an image for dropped… it’s a lot that goes into this. Do these players and coaches think all this **** just comes together on my end??? SMH

So we dropping 4 star DLs now...........Everyone during the summer and early season was saying Mario and Joe sucked at recruiting DL

He jumped in unexpectedly and Blount was already back in the fold. That’s my take
And Blount is basically a done deal? Seems so odd that everything him and his mom have posted lately is so pro Miami it seems off. I'm so used to kids wanting a show or some surprise with these announcements.

I guess it’s safe to say that Kendall Jackson wasn’t the Whale Flo was talking about. There’s still one out there!

I get the favoritism annoyance, but how many times have we heard about the schools down here getting ****ed at Miami. If they were going to drop him, they should have done that a while ago and you can probably make the argument that they should have, but it seems like the combo of Jackson, Scott and (hopefully) Blount was unexpected.
