DT Simeon Barrow, Jr. commits to Miami

When Miami lost senior Jared Harrison-Hunte to SMU, adding an upgrade at defensive tackle became their top objective. They have checked that box with the addition of Michigan State transfer Simeon Barrow, Jr. One of the most coveted players in the Portal, Barrow chose Miami over LSU, Texas and Missouri.

The 6'3, 290 redshirt junior is a two-time Honorable Mention All-Big 10 selection who compiled 110 tackles, 18.5 TFL, 10.5 sacks and 76 pressures over the past three years. He also blocked two kicks, displaying his explosive power, and was voted team captain.

As a three-star recruit out of Grovetown, Georgia, Barrow weighed 252 pounds and was listed as a DE prospect. He has maintained his quickness (verified 4.44 shuttle) while adding almost 40 pounds.

Barrow joins QB Cam Ward, RB Damien Martinez, WR Sam Brown, DT CJ Clark, DT Marley Cook, DE Elijah Alston, LB Jaylin Alderman, S Meesh Powell and CB D'yoni Hill in Miami's Portal class.

its been about 90 degrees every day for over a month closer to 2 months with little to no rain all my grass at my house has fried lol.

one of the hottest springs ive experienced growing up here

I dont get the lightning thing.... grew up in the haven but never seen any lightning like it is in Pinellas Tampa area.

Assuming this all is true (and it is too recent for me to know for sure), the $50K was supposedly money that LSU paid to the father in order to steer Barrow to LSU, and that Barrow was not really aware of this until he chose Miami. LSU wants the money back and Barrow is trying to help, though Miami didn't know of this issue in advance.

Regardless, it's still an unexpected bump in the road, whether the bump is innocent or intentional.

how wasnt he aware of this when we had posters on here posting about it weeks before he picked us.

Matter of fact i didnt think he would pick us because he already took cash from lsu to jump in the portal... we paid more for his services more than likely is the only way we got him.

My guess is Mizzou was still recruiting him and he either had a higher NIL # in mind or some other perk from Mizzou or alternatively an issue at UM was making him reconsider. He decided to leave assuming he could join Mizzou, UM intentionally leaked it and blasted Mizzou's name everywhere to help with tampering and the kid realizes he cannot leave and decides to come back.

I also doubt many of the kids on the team care. This is just the new age of CFB. If he is a cool dude, plays well and the team wins, all will be forgotten.

4 to 8 inches of snow in the 20s in western Montana the week before last.
