so D$ did a podcast not long ago (this morning) and said what he said in this thread essentially that he expects it to get worked out, no direct confirmation but that is his prediction.

He also said it was NOT NIL related and we dont have to worry about that being a Rashada situation as long as CanesConnection is around and operating how it has been. Also said it was not a competition or "I was promised start snaps" issue. D$ said he was being vague and he knew that since he could not disclose too much but compared it to the Bachelor where you are forced into a relationship in a short amount of time unlike HS recruiting and said this happens in HS and things get worked out and this was more like one of those issues where if there was more time it likely is ironed out prior to him getting to campus.

Couple that with the blurb above from 247 saying that a "glitch" in the system showing Barrow still in the portal and not yet enrolled is what Mizzou thought they could still recruit and bring him in. My guess is Mizzou was still recruiting him and he either had a higher NIL # in mind or some other perk from Mizzou or alternatively an issue at UM was making him reconsider. He decided to leave assuming he could join Mizzou, UM intentionally leaked it and blasted Mizzou's name everywhere to help with tampering and the kid realizes he cannot leave and decides to come back.

Look, we have to stop with this nonsense.

TECHNICALLY, the money was not NIL-related, but there was definitely a money issue. I'm not going to get specific, but the $50K was anywhere from 50% to 100% of his "issues".

As far as the "glitch in the system", that is complete and utter bull****. You can't use "247" as a primary source for whether a kid is enrolled. And it doesn't take more than 10 seconds of Googling to get ANY school's academic calendar. Mizzou can pull whatever bull**** they want to pull and make any excuse they want to make, but they **** sure knew that the UM enrollment deadline had passed. "WAAAAAH, WAAAAH, 247 still doesn't say he is enrollled". Yeah, **** off and die, Mizzou, you can make that the FIRST question you ask a Portal recruit: "Are you enrolled yet?" See how easy that was?

Sadly, Barrow just read the headline of the news report about the NCAA allowing "unlimited transfers". Someday he may learn reading comprehension, and hopefully UM will teach him that skill.

There are multiple photos of our players doing work-outs in recent weeks outside on the practice field. Don't play dumb.

Yes, and that doesn't mean they do all of their workouts there, and it doesn't prevent them from moving inside once the heat index rises too much.

Hey, are those "multiple photos" time-stamped? Because I'm sure you're so smart that you figured out that a daylight picture could be anything from 6:30 in the morning until 8 pm at night, right?

We have plenty of HS and Portal recruits reporting to Miami for the first time, I'm sure that the coaches and administrators monitor the temperatures and the weather. It's why we have an IPF.

this kid with all his BS better be another Suh or I'd have his butt collecting a whoooooole lot of metal splinters come sept.

I never claimed he was in any danger. It was the hottest month of May on record and Barrow just spent 4 years at a school where the average high temp in May is 69 degrees.

All I'm saying is a 30 degree difference in temps from one day to the next might have contributed to him looking around for other options which would not involve him enduring oppressive heat/humidity for the next several months.

Barrow is from Augusta, Georgia.

The "temperature" is not why he was looking into another school. As has already been pointed out, Mizzou was pursuing Barrow since before he enrolled at Miami and got sweaty outside one day.

If he was so keen on playing at Mizzou then he would have signed there instead. Something about his time here prompted him to leave, and I would not discount the possibility of record heat influencing that decision and you're free to disagree.

A portal DT likely is nowhere near suh or an elite DT for that matter

Proving, yet again, why the "dopey" adjective was so accurate.

I don't care what you discount or not, you're still wrong. It has widely and accurately been reported that Mizzou continued to recruit Barrow, before and after his enrollment (you don't "sign" anywhere as a transfer).

Mizzou upped the cash offer to Barrow, it's just that simple and accurate. Meanwhile, you're yapping about the weather.

Dopey.

You might think you do, but you don't know all the factors involved with Barrow's potential exit. Only he does. I'd be interested to find out (from him) if the hottest month of May on record had anything to do with it.

Can’t see it being a heat thing

If it really was a $$$ thing I really hope we didn’t give this kid what he wanted or we will be dealing with an FSU-like issue of a bunch of kids now strong arming us for raises

Plenty of people know all of the factors involved with Barrow.

You're just one of those ignorant and stubborn types that don't like to acknowledge accurate information, but prefer to spew your own dopey theories because it fraudulently makes you look like you know something when you don't.

In this case, I'll give you full credit for being able to read the weather reports. Good for you. You're still wrong about Barrow, but good for you for being able to note how hot it is outside.

Mizzou's contact with him is certainly a major factor but I don't think you understand how it's been down here.

Ah,.. when you went to school in the 60’s and 70’s that’s what you did. I matriculated from Slippery Rock to Miami. Well, kind of they were threatening to throw me out, if I didn’t “matriculate” out, so, I came home and transferred or matriculated as they say.

Probably more to due with the hottest piece of puZ at Missouri.
Can’t compare to our SOBE ladies

Last page or two of this thread confirms what many known and have always known. Rok da gawd.
I'm obviously speculating but if Barrow arrived here from a temperate climate before a record-setting month of May like Powell and Ward, then this wouldn't be an issue since those months were tolerable/pleasant weather-wise.

But Barrow's introduction to his new home coincided with feels-like temps in the 110s, and perhaps that made a place like Columbia, MO seem just a tad more appealing. Again, purely speculative on my part, but also not completely out of the question imo considering the whole "it was the hottest month of May on record" part.

My buddy tried to and almost died. The bison got really agitated when my friend approached and when my friend turned to run away, he tripped and fell. The bison ran up to him, looked at him with disgust and walked away. His wife has most of it on video but about the time the bison starts to run towards him, she dropped the camera and just started saying “oh ****” over and over.
I always root for the bison
