I have no problem with a few. I do think coaches need to be careful not to dilute quality after they are finally getting it back to decent.

I noticed that other than McConathy and OJ, the guys being raged about from the 2024 class are the higher ranked guys. And many of us felt those two were the most underrated in the class. Little mention about projects like Francavilla, Minaya, Russell, Wheatley Humphrey. Yes they’re more developmental. But it’s concerning nevertheless.

**** cat Wheatley humphrey has been mentioned a bit though

How about "noteworthy"? We've heard about Lyle, Trader,. Carr, all the DEs, Scott, Pruitt, Hayes, Patterson, OJ, Lofton, even Judd. Not so much about the lowest 4 rated players from last class. Again, a handful of flyers are fine, just not too many.
God forbid we fill out the new 105 scholarship roster with more than a handful of guys yearly that aren't popping within 3 months of being in the program lol (not everyone is an EE!). You're living in the 85 scholarship limit past. Maybe It would be an issue if we just kept stacking them up and not pushing them out after the staff lost confidence in them. But we have evidence that is not the case.

This offseason we signed 27 HS guys and 15 portal guys (42 total). So, only 10% can take longer than 3 months to start getting notoriety? At the end of the day we're going to be signing between 30-40 ish through HS and Portal yearly.

Also One of our lowest 4 from last season is a kicker. 3 of the others are Oline and DT, which are the two position groups on this roster we are the deepest at with elite talent, AND typically require the most pure time to develop - especially if they aren't 5 stars. Also if this were an exact science it'd be easy.

Blue chip ratio will no longer matter AS MUCH - as long as the pure number of blue chips remains the same. In the grand scheme of things you only have 22 starters, and maybe 50 total players seeing good rotation yearly... Thats going from ~60% of scholarships to <50% of scholarships.

ok he has woken up a lil bit thjust caused an incomplete pass and was held the play before.

Hes not a quick twitch guy....

But he can be what i called when we signed him i see him poxssibly like a stash developmental guy with a projection like Ahmad Moten
And he’s only 16

Not good, Bob.

But he is 16 as a Sr and showed a few flashes in the game.

He’s a candidate for being planted in the DT garden until he’s ready with the new scholarship increases

This ***** a joke. Are you guys actually busting this kids balls. hes super young and hes got crazy size for a 16 year old. fcking calm down. fckkkkkkkkkkkk
the concern is the motor
that is usually not dependant on age
you either have it
or you have to be physically gifted enough that 50% of your motor is better than other's 100%

He's a Sr now? I thought he just started his Jr year.

To an extent yes. Only variant in that is if you're still growing. Don't know if it's accurate or not. But with my nephews and at IMG the doctors have always said when a kid is still growing it effects stamina. I'm curious if that's true and if so how much. Lord knows my nephew likes that excuse.

I hear what you're saying. Mario has showed the last 2 classes that he'll stay after elite talent till the paper is signed. If we do what we're capable of on the field this fall, it'll only accentuate his relentlessness recruiting and our NIL strengths, imo.

Yes sir, he’s a 2025 kid.
K. Now I understand some of the comments. I thought he was a 26 kid and were worried about standard jr year issues for interior lineman. Sounds like he was one of the rare kids anymore who's parents didn't hold him back a year.

You take this to the extreme. Flyers are fine, just don't dilute the depth of talent. That's my main point. I'm not being alarmist.

p.s. I didn't count the kicker.

But what Im literally saying though is there is no way we aren't going to dilute the depth of talent on a Percentage basis. You're saying no more than a handful, but a handful today is not the same as a handful last year now that we have an additional 20 scholarships. WE were always going to take some developmental pieces - especially on the OL and DL period. Now we have another 20 scholarships to go around, it's going to happen more.

That's why I said as long as the total number of blue chips is generally remaining the same, the percentage could be going from 60% to 50% and still be relatively the same outcome since ultimately there are only 22 starters and max of 50-60 players total that really see the field in any given year.
