We got a natural center already in Nino Brown.
That would be a major disrespect to Russel.

putting the kid at the spot where he might best succeed is disrespectful? wow.

just wow.

not saying he should or would be moved to OL, but if that's the attitude, .... it explains all we need to know.

Russell is 6'1..if you think a center here will play at that size who's last name isnt Cristobal you got to be crazy.

He doesnt even play ol in hs and likely never snapped a ball, He would never be a center or an ol here. Do u see the size of guys Mario targets on the OL?.

here's your current backup center, who is 6-2 275.

(*just saying")

Doesn't matter what position he's playing in high school. College coaches seldom care about that. They're looking for traits... traits that pop on film... traits that they can work with... traits that translate to other positions.

[have to bold this]
I'M NOT SAYING HE'LL BE A PLAYER HERE, BUT I DO SEE THE TRAITS THAT THEY'RE ATTRACTED TO.

After watching his game film I noticed 3 things...
1. Solid punch at the POA. He puts linemen on their a$s. (DT traits)
2. Good short area quickness at times
3. Tenacity

Normally he's probably not a take but considering the current state of our DT recruiting...🤷🏻‍♂️

I'll know more after Friday fellas.

The irony to me is that I believe the ONLY time you take a kid who is this much of a stretch is when you have a very deep position group. Then you can afford to take that risk. We cannot. ... This kid is not a Kancey. He's another Earl Moore. His tape is uninspiring, his measurables are bad and he takes plays off. No thanks.

I agree but because nothing makes sense for this program watch Russell come in and be a player lol

He has talent and has produced. It is all projection much like a S growing to LB and being physical enough to play in the box all season. In this case, he plays standing up a ton and takes plays off. He has to transform his body and learn how to play DT. The good news, we don’t need him for 2 years.

He doesn't want to play DT similar situation as Elijah Robert's.

If Russell signs with Miami, I see him transferring after a year or 2.

Roberts wasn’t 6’1 and needing a massive body mass transformation. I liked Roberts as a 5T and wanted him to stay.

Russell just doesn’t have the length to play DE. We shall see if he can beat the odds.
