Robby's move to CB may signify that Brown might be out a while.

Also, was there a Ryan Mack sighting on the sideline vs FAMU?
Ryan Mack was on the sideline in street clothes. Not sure if injured, perhaps @DMoney can elaborate

my guess on Emory? **** be portaling out this year and they dont want to burn a shirt and waste a year he could have elsewhere as a show of good faith. i do not believe he is a p4 starting caliber QB that can lead a team to a title in terms of arm talent and athleticism. he wasnt very good last year at all, weak arm, and not really accurate. hes got great leadership attributes but there is a HUGE gap between a guy like Cam and a guy like Emory as QB. we need another Cam type portal QB next year.

this morning I looked it up and ball state and Northern Illinois have comparable talent based on the 247 composite index. just something to think about.
It's always nice for another ranked team to get a huge upset right before a potential trap game. Gives coaches another way to keep players focused.

Aside from some of the struggles teams have already had this year, all the staff needs to do is point to the Middle Tenn State game.
Trap games aren’t about the coaches anyway they are about the players

College football is the most unpredictable sport on the planet and it’s why we love it, but at least having men like Cam, X, Meesh etc as leaders of the team we can expect they will always be ready no matter who it is

He's the starter if Cam went down IMO
Save his 4 games unless needed.

We get a transfer qb next year then Emory judd or Nickel can win the Jon in 2026 or we go portal again.

were going portal if emory or judd are the QBs. you can see the difference in what they do and what Cam does. i think until we land the elite QBs out of HS, were going to be portal shopping at QB till then.

if cam went down, the season is over because emory isnt going to come close to replicating him. neither would poff.

imo, i think we go HARD after Lagway to spend the next three years being Cam Ward.

cam so far has been good enough to make it so it wont come down to a play or two. he looks like hes playing on Freshman level NCAA 25 right now. hes just moving in slow motion seeing the field as if he were neo in the matrix dodging bullets. last QB to be this good was probably burrow in his final year. he was just on another level that season.

Sooooo....with that cryptic "prior agreements" comment, does that mean Mario is redshirting Emory?

I read an article with an interview with Coach Guidry. He said he was Redshirting Emory to get him strong and ready for next year that Emory was is an agreement with it.

Yes. Dawson said more in his interview but they told Emory in the offseason that he was going to RS. He knew he wasn't going to play against FAMU. They have a plan for how they want to use his 4 games.
I am of the belief they want him in similar competition to what he was forced into last year, rather than play the (forgive me fam) weaker teams on the schedule. Expectation that that game speed will help keep him on track in his development.

So even if it’s mop up duty vs Florida or an ACC squad we get a big lead against, those boys are moving a lot faster (hypothetically) than FAMU or Ball State.

Again, my belief on them using the four games strategically and no comment here on that potential shirt being used for some other school or not. Just focused on his growth as a qb.

Sometimes we jump the gun on the impact of these freshman. We wondered why Wes struggled his first year, but knowing he weighed well under 200 that year says it all. He really probably needed a redshirt yet was forced into action.

Guidry said they’re playing him at both buy he’s gotta a long way to go as he was just moved there. Guidry said he’s a smart kid, an athlete and is picking it up fast but obviously hasn’t been through the training camps so he’s still gotta a lot to learn.

Not trying to be contrary - however . . .

A good friend had the best bird dog I've ever seen.

And my friend didn't teach that dog one thing - nope - that dog already had the good stuff in him.

Loved his job.

Seems we’re both contrarians so no offense taken.

No doubt some have “it” and some don’t. Maybe some time, his athletic ability, and training, he can become acclimated to a new defensive position.

Could that bird dog back pedal?
