Rrod must have either broken his ankle or required surgery. He would be back if it was just a sprain. And I agree he would not walk back into starting spot. But it sure would be nice to have his depth.
Mario is like one notch below Kyle whittingham. We will never know

Hopefully this helps our entire OL and especially CAM Ward and our run game getting Rivers back. Our offense should get a boost.

No more seeing Bell get worked or having to use a tight end to help him out. Not going to blame Bell entirely, the plan was to redshirt him this year.

We’ve missed him. O line has been good but not the cohesive obliteration it will be with him.

Sweet. Coach has never lied to journos about injuries, so am sure this is accurate.

Since Bell has burned his shirt, curious to see if we kick Rivers or 61 inside to LG on short yardage runs, or - my favorite - go 6OL with Bell at LT and Cooper/61/Rivers on right side. Immense amount of tonnage and tuffness & fyzicality.

definitely. Bell has raw talent but needs polish and more time in the s&c program. Rivers will play a long time in NFL.
When Bell gets ahold of a guy they dissapear. I see it. But we’re ACC title contenders with a Heisman type QB. Can’t have the holding or the strip sack, Ward high ankle sprain type play that I feel is more likely with Bell than Rivers. Better pop in the run game too.

bell will be fine. OL guys just need time.

Thank God. Rivers + Alston back is a nice boost. Only missing Damari & Ryan Rod now. Pretty healthy for the stretch run with still 1 more bye a month from now. My hope is RR is back by Ga Tech game and Damari is ready for Wake Forest after the next bye.
Facts man getting Rivers back makes this offense back to the top offense in the nation. And Alston back is extra underrated d-line 100% now amazing. I would save Damari for the last 4 games to keep his redshirt just in case

1. agree with your first statement (or the sarcasm) but this aint that. Mario is very coy about the "game time decisions" **** Rivers has been a Gametime decision for 4 weeks, same with Bain two weeks ago but when he said Bain was a full go, we saw he was a full go. Now he is saying the same thing about Jalen, I would bet Jalen starts on Saturday.

2. I do think Bell becomes the 6th man TE/extra blocker on short yardage. Mario and co like to use this. I think that was McCoy's role last year where he would go to the TE jersey # and I remembered being confused a few times on who was clearing out running lanes in a TE jersey then realized it was a 6th OL. My guess however is Bell just acts as the TE on either side on the line and the starting 5 stay the starting 5.
