CIS Staff Predictions: Miami vs. Florida

Miami opens the season on Saturday vs. Florida, a 3:30 p.m. kickoff at Ben Hill Griffin. The Canes are a 2.5-point favorite over the Gators, who went 5-7 last season.

There are plenty of new faces on both sidelines. Miami brought in quarterback Cam Ward, who will make his Miami Hurricanes debut after two years at Washington State. The Canes’ defense may be stacked with talented veterans.

The CIS crew is ready to weigh in with our predictions and you can check them out below:

NGL, I'm disappointed.

Not one of you predicted Canes to score above 34 points. After this entire offseason of man-crushing on Ward, Martinez, X, Brown, George, Horton, Arroyo, R Williams, Lofton and 8-10 of our OL? While at the same time LOLing over that UF DL's lack of pass rush and the fact Jason Marshall hasn't done anything on the field while we got the better of the two UW transfers?

I want Coach Cristobal to shut the naysayers up. Toss a 50+ burger on these lizards.

50(or more) - 10.

24-21 Canes. First game of the year and excitment and jitters will be high. Both defenses will settle in first, to make it a low scoring game. 2 tds, 1 from Martinez, one from Fletcher. 1 throwing tuddie from Ward. A field goal to ice the game.

30-17, 20 if UF doesn't miss a FG which I predict they will.
