I’m still weary about Jaboree

I think he’s capable of starting day 1 as well. Hopefully we hit the portal and make sure we don’t have to do that but him and OJ will be a great duo. Still a ways to go with him though and I’m not sure I would trade him for Pickett and some have suggested. His pure cover corner skills look elite
I'd rather keep him if I had to choose a shut down corner is our biggest need.

He's obviously a take. Don't we get like 25 additional scholarships next year. The question for me would more be would he want to possibly be like CB 6 in this class?... Cause If we land our top targets and keep the guys we have, thats where he stacks up probably.

Yeah I don't normally pencil in starters at freshman for a position like corner, but he is sticky as **** in coverage with very good athleticism. Pickett an even better athlete but would have to learn the ins/outs of playing corner.

Yeah Pickett is off the charts potential wise for sure. And I will say I only saw Jaboree’s highlights and I know he plays QB a lot.

I’ve not let my heart accept we will get them both

im keeping all receipts

You know these kids. How do you feel about Ewald? Given you posted that he’s played the spot since he was 9, I expect you are a fan. Is that correct?

I was one of his coaches those days from that age until like 12. DVD an his dad werre the db coaches.

Im the most bias person when it comes to him and a fan obviousl lol.

Quiet just gonna get the job done....has weight gain potential, very technical, and coachable. Hes battle tested based off of who he was going against since he was a kid and then in high school.

I dont think he is plug n play. But i do think he can be coached up.

This year i saw him live against Norland and he made a few plays and was physical. Norland has a few div 1 wrs so that was good comp.

how does Ewald compare to last season Mack? he's taller, but skillset and ceiling wise?

Not to derail the thread but is Mack injured? Kind of surprised we’re not talking about him more.

What needs to be coached up to get him ready to play in your mind? (Real question, not argumentative leading)

He needs to grow into his body and gain strength, but if he's playing the position that long, where does he still need technical growth to be ready to play in your eyes.

I haven't reviewed him thoroughly, so I'm genuinely curious as to your thoughts.

his length gives him a higher ceiling than Mack.....he has loong arms....Mack is faster though but i would say similar prospects and i was always pretty high on Mack who i could see becoming a DP Jr type of player
Was a big fan of Mack. In that team last year, he was the one who took the alpha WR and they would switch Mack into receivers when Federique would have an issue with them.

Federique got beat up by one of the Williams WR (memory fails on which) and Mack took over against him after that and really shut him down.

Mack was the better HS player on film between the two, so I'm hopeful if he keeps working he finds a role here.

coached up from a scheme approach. He has played a ton of bump n run type of coverage. The defenses down here as you know dont run alot of stuff.
I wasnt speaking on a technical standpoint as far as body positioning, reading keys, etc ( he has all that)

Im in agreement s&c will be BIG for him....what set apart OJ is dude came in looking like a monster whatever they finished up with at sta was major i dont think Chaminade s&c is to that level.

I think he could probably be an early enrollee so that would be major.
