Carson Beck commits to Miami

Georgia QB Carson Beck, the top-ranked overall player in the Portal, has committed to Miami.

Beck is 24-3 over his last two years as a starter and has thrown for 7,426 yards (68.4%) with 52 touchdowns and 18 INTs. He also ran for 187 yards and 5 TDs.

A member of the 2020 class, Beck will turn 24 during the season and brings tremendous experience to Miami's quarterback room. A 6'4, 230-pound passer with a verified 4.40 shuttle in high school, Beck was projected as a first-round pick before the season and was still a likely Day 1-2 pick prior to an elbow injury that ended his season. He is expected to resume throwing in spring.

Beck was one of the most efficient QBs in America in 2023, throwing for 3,941 yards, 24 TDs and 6 INTs with a spectacular 9.5 yards per attempt. Following the departure of his two top weapons to the NFL, Beck's production slipped to 3,485 yards, 28 TDs and 12 INTs in 2024. Georgia led the nation in drops, and its running game collapsed from 17th in the nation in yards per game to 102nd.

The Canes return four starting OL and two of their top QBs and will be major players for a big-time WR add in the spring Portal session.

Now that doesnt preclude him from being succesful here and I think he is a solid QB but it shows a guy that struggled against better competition. Some of that will fall on Bobo, but not all of it. he has his warts ... and he still was coveted by bama and georgia ... i doubt we find another cam, he was that special ... but i don't see tvd, the year prior to last he threw for 3900+ with 24tds and 6ints at a 72% clip ... in the SEC ... you tried the **** outta beck with a tvd comparison

And in 2021 as a RS freshman, TVD threw for 2900 25 and 6 in 10 games and was at that time being looked as one of the best in the nation. Who knows what happens with Beck this season, and I think if he is TVD level, we still can win 10 games with him. Defense should be much better and we will keep Beck upright with our OL. We still need a couple pieces in the spring portal but the way this and last portal cycle have gone, got to believe we continue that trend and land those pieces.

Not at all. If I haven't hung around a person, I make no assumptions on anyone. I just thought the song sounded like sh**. I like older country. But it sounds like sh** compared to what I am used to listening to. I had never heard that song before just like most "Country" after 2010.

For that, I had people on this site say I lived under a rock. I don't live under a rock. I listen to Blues, Motown, Jazz, Rock, and so on. I am educated. Been a lot of places past and present. I am not under a rock. I had honestly never heard of the person singing the song.
