People don’t understand how instrumental Caputo was in building the infrastructure of the program AND on the basketball scheme/strategy side.

Caputo would absolutely be a great hire.
Wouldn’t be my first choice

Caputo would absolutely be a great hire.

Seems impressive. Where would he be on this list of potential hires at UF or FSU, etc,?

That’s fine and I respect that. But he is the first choice of some of the people who will be involved in making the decision AND knowing what his contributions actually were during his time here, I think they’re right.

Our roster construction fell apart after his departure (Omier and Pack were key but complimentary players on the F4 team).

Coincidence?

And Caputo is proving it with how he’s building back the GW program… they’re still 1-2 years away but they are on the trajectory to be a top team in the A10 (Caputo inherited a mess of a program there when he arrived).

Who gives a ****?

He's not a stalker and he's not Miami's former head coach, so how should we know where he would be on a list of potential hires at UF or F$U?

One page earlier, you were whining about "not hiring a big name".

You are the worst. Zero-knowledge, all-complaints.

Absolutely outstanding tenure as the best basketball coach in this program’s history. Salute.

Let’s keep it in the family.

Caputo being floated

Caputo was the 1st name that came to mind. I would expect Rad to try and do better than him. After being disappointed in the baseball hire, I expect better. This job isn't the bottom tier ACC program it once was.
Thanks for all you did Coach L. A good man. Enjoy the rest of your days in retirement. Greatest Canes basketball coach, ever.

Anyone who has followed Miami basketball for longer than "the Elite 8 year" knows that Caputo is the guy.

If you recall, when most posters were banging the table for "fire Laranaga", I said that he still was great, but that we needed a succession plan. And I was talking about Caputo.

Unpopular opinion: Stop wasting money on basketball NIL and put the few million $ into football and get us over the hump.

Let basketball be sub .500. Who cares?
Yeah you my dude J but your preface phrase is apropos. I’m a football guy first but the Bball team has been just as valuable to UM as football. I’d even venture to say a little more valuable in recent years with the deep runs (conference, Elite 8, Final 4 appearances) since the football team has been mid for so long.

Last point is the most important. Football has been mid for so long. Someone mentioned Alabama, who had a terrible basketball game while dominating football, then they moved on to fix basketball.

Fix football and then move to basketball if that is what you want to do. Prove we can do one before we attempt both.
