BREAKING: Cleveland Browns Brass privately meet with Cam Ward

CORAL GABLES, FL, March 26, 2025- After Monday’s pro day with all 32 teams in attendance to get a look at Miami’s draft prospects, one team stayed in town to meet with the expected No.1 pick Cam Ward.

And while many would expect it to be the Titans who hold the No.1 pick and sent nearly their whole staff down to watch, it was actually the Cleveland Browns who hold the No.2 pick.

First reported here on CanesInsight, Browns owner Jimmy Haslam and GM Andrew Berry first met with former ’Cane TE David Njoku and agent Malki Kawa this morning in Coral Gables, before working out and meeting with Miami QB Cam Ward. Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski was also in attendance for Ward's workout



For Njoku, this meeting could result in another contract with the Browns. He last signed an extension in 2022 which lasts through the upcoming season. The two sides could be closing on a deal which keeps “Chief” in Cleveland for years to come.

For Ward, this meeting could become one of the biggest storylines heading into the draft.

The Browns are clearly in the market for a quarterback this year, with Deshaun Watson dealing with an achilles tear, and back-up Jameis Winston recently signing a deal with the New York Giants. While Cleveland has the opportunity to take QB Shadeur Sanders with the second pick in the draft, all indicators demonstrate the Browns aren't interested in the Colorado quarterback, opting for his teammate Travis Hunter or Penn State’s Abdul Carter with their pick.

The only thing that stands in Cleveland’s way of Ward is the Titans, who as previously mentioned hold the No.1 pick. At Miami’s pro day, Titan coaches were spotted laughing and talking to Cam before and after his throwing session. And when it came to wether Ward would be the No.1 pick, he made sure both Tennessee and the world knew who it was.

“I’m solidifying it [The No.1 pick], I’m your guy,” Ward said between reps during pro day.

But despite holding the No.1 pick, Tennessee has made it clear they are willing to listen to offers for the spot, which at this point seems a lock to be Ward. Could Cleveland be the team to shock the league and trade up for the Miami superstar? Only time will tell as we inch closer to the draft in a month’s time.
