How many times have we read a post asking why a recruit “wouldn't want to stay home &...”? This is the rare time I can see a recruit asking himself this question. Surtain’s situation is just different than most other recruits. He is the son of a former MIAMI Dolphin and lives a different lifestyle than a normal recruit, even other 5*. HIs father is his head coach and he’s always been the man (deservedly so). He has to be asking himself what sounds better? Living the lifestyle he is accustomed to, at home, in South Florida? Or living in a dorm in Baton Rouge or Tuscaloosa? And that's just his location debate. Didn't even get into the football side of things.
All those analysts and gurus were so convinced he was an LSU lock. But none of them wondered why he didnt commit when he visited LSU? I read a story about a player.. Think it was Gatewood.. who always wanted to go to ufag. But when he toured the campus, he realized it just wasn't what he thought it was and said ***** this. Maybe the same things happened with him when he OV LSU.
Or.. Im stretching here and hoping for the best!

He learned that from Bobby Bowden .. When Bowden was at FSU, he "miraculously" had the best "finish" on Signing Day seemingly every year. The media would always gush about what a great Closer Bowden was. When in reality, he would tell his recruits to be Silent Commits and not go public

I honestly got the feeling reading those interviews that Miami is a player for each of the AH4. Will they get em all? I have no idea. But neither of the corners made it seem like one school was head and shoulders above any other school, much less make it seem like Miami is out of it. Chatfield himself said there's no leader, which says it all. And I think if he goes on a UOV with the other 3 this weekend, can only help Miami on the heels of the in-home visit. Nesta, I personally still think he's locked into Miami, but he says Florida is a player so (dry heave) I guess they still have a puncher's chance.
I think hitting the grand slam is way more feasible than people nationally give Miami a chance for.
