That all being said, Berrios was eons more productive in college than McKenzie ever was.
No he wasn't.
Come on, bro. Berrios had like 5 less receptions last season ALONE than McKenzie had in his ENTIRE career at Georgia.
Macheau dug his Spotbilt heels in long ago on McKenzie/Berrios. He's not going to change his opinion despite Berrios clearly being a better player, better leader, better teammate, better student and more clutch player.
Meh it’s close enough that it could go either way. If you add the student side of things then there is no debate. My guess is 10 years from now McKenzie will feel very fortunate to be Mr. Berrios limo driver.Come on, bro. McKenzie also left as a Junior.
I'm not gonna get into this debate again. Anybody who thinks McKenzie wouldn't have been a huge value to us is silly. Berrios had a great Senior year but before that this wasn't even a discussion.
Before that he missed most of a season, and was playing out of position. If he had 4 years in the slot..... Oh well.
Get off the homer act for one second and be objective.
Coming out of high school they weren't even in the same stratosphere. Hindsight is 20/20.
Heritage had a legitimate gripe regarding McKenzie and Dowels to be honest.

Cause you all knew that Berrios was gonna be a "better player, better leader, better teammate, better student and more clutch player" coming out of high school right?
MF'er, the jury was still out on him no more than a year ago, when McKenzie registered more catches in his Junior season than Berrios had his entire career. Now all of a sudden Berrios has a good Senior season and everybody knew! Shut up. LOL

Legitimate gripe on what? Who the **** bats 1.000 with non 5 star can't miss types in recruiting? Miami owes heritage nothing...Every coach is going to have misses, if they have too many, their team isn't good enough and the coach gets fired.
Like it was some type of master plot against AH kids (weirdo eyeroll emoji)...It wasn't...And even in fairytale land it was, staff is gone and the coach who took the player these pi$$ants like Wilson are bytching about is now at UM?
Legitimate gripe, now that's funny

Berrios wasn’t some scrub coming out of high school, though. He was a consensus 4 Star and was invited to play in the Under Armor All American Game.

They had a legitimate gripe AT THAT TIME.
McKenzie was arguably the most explosive player in Broward. And Dowels was 1st team All-State and had just won Defensive Player of the Year. He was the best CB in Broward.
Neither was offered by Miami. Instead we signed Braxton Berrios and Ryan Mayes.
Even with Berrios having one good season that was a recruiting fail.
As a general rule of thumb you should only pay attention to CS when they cite their source (e.g. when they interviewed Mcintosh's dad)
I'm not sure who they used as their "sources", but they're desperate to find any info to sealed recruitments, wouldn't surprise me if they interviewed old position coaches or even a teacher that will gladly regurgitate what he read online to feel like an insider.

That's great.
McKeznie was the most explosive player in Miami's backyard.

Macho we all understand your position bro but this **** isn’t legit they can’t hold us to this standard especially when mark signed those kids and your old head coach is here bruh this seems like some made up ****
@Macho..Ill give you McKenzie..we should have offered. Period. He was Roscoe Parrish 2.0 and for Golden and his staff not to see that is crazy especially since Roscoe more then held his own around here at that size.
But your boy Dowels has been pretty much a bust at Syracuse too. Lets not make it seem like he has been ballin'. I know he had injuries but all things equal..we cant put him on the "miss" list.
That said, heard rumors he is looking to grad transfer and is looking at UM..any truth to this?
This is how I saw it for awhile now. If anyone listened to surtain sr on that radio show the other day, it's pretty clear they are choosing between lsu and bammer.
Willing to bet your account on that?
