Bain said the kid was following him around to the point it was getting like GAH ****....basically verbatim what he said in a canes camp clip.

Cole said he saw what Bain did and wants to replicate.

Bain signing paid off more than p think i think its even helping in this class as i believe kids want to be the next Bain..look at the Newton kid

production never lies
to me thats more important than any other measurable
super hyped for him
but Picket is my main man from this class
he just suits up and dominates everywhere he goes
no question asked
just wait till he puts on some weight and **** be the next all american after Bain

When you sign kids and then develop them enough they’re on the national stage kids take notice. That’s the area I’ve been harping on forever
“ development “. Just like OSU with wr’s , LSU with cb’s and Lincoln Riley with qb’s. Bain exploded on the national scene right off the rip now recuts think they’re next. Weird how it all works out when that happens.

As always, it's both. It's a lot easier to develop a Rueben Bain than it is to develop a Chantz Williams. Got to have the talent to develop it. I have no doubt that Beard could develop Jeremiah Smith as well as Hartline.

When it comes to development guys like Bain were going to ball out regardless but you want to sell yourself as a coach when a guy blows up on the national scene. Imo coaches get way too much credit for that especially with the big time guys but perception is reality .

Definitely beats having kids who can only mention players from before they were born.

I’d say 99% of this board should not be allowed to use the words:

Development
Regression

Oh and Generational just for good measure

I think it also helped that the services were not as high on Bain due to his height and basic body composition. If he was 6'4 and rocked up he is a 5* and everyone expects him to be really good really fast.

Everyone who watched Bain saw him ragdoll whoever was across from him and I think the ranking services underestimated his work ethic etc. but I think Bain ended up in like the 60-80 range as a final recruit. So **** good player but somewhat flew under the radar and that is why I think it looked like he exploded onto the scene because outside of Miami he did not have a ton of hype or recognition.

I'm looking forward to seeing how he does. I don't remember the last time a white dude got this early praise. Good things coming. Need a token crazy white dude.

Man I can’t wait to see what this kid can do. If we get production from him, Lightfoot and Scott alone this DL will be insane.
Not to mention Blount, AJ, Pickett.

DL might have a legit 10-12 NFL players on it when it’s said and done. **** it’s been a minute

Chickillo first that comes to mind. Al Golden forever in debt to that poor legacy family for ruining such a great talent.

Not sure we have a “generational” talent on DL from a pure athletic standpoint.

Bain might be the closest but that’s strictly due to him being 36 stuck in a 19 year olds body. Hes working for it all.

Fact is, we’re still missing that ELITE physical specimen on the outside (Jaelan Phillips/Thibs)
