These are offers listed by 247, so they may be off like they have been before. I'd ask Pete if any of these are non-committable offers.

3. Josh Butler.
4. DuWayne Johnson.
5. Darius Smith.
There's other players listed that I think Davis is better than, but their stars and rankings are higher and I'm not that good of an amateur talent evaluator to confidently explain why. Those are just eye tests. But these 5 are not definitely not as good as Davis, who it seems is blowing up daily.
Problem with that line of thinking is the kids won't be going to Utah State but instead to bigtime SEC/ACC schools.
Is that OSU offer commitable?

A couple of the guys listed aren't even actually CBs. Certainly not their primary position. As for the others, there is nothing on the clips that says Davis is clearly a better player.

Seeing as they're being recruited as corners, that's a completely moot point. His tape shows physicality and speed. Georgia and Ohio State offer combo players like that for a reason. His tape is better than all 5 of these guys.
#2 on your list. All his clips are of him on the offensive side of ball. He looks like a Berrios clone. How you can judge his CB skills is beyond me. I believe Darius Smith is a safety who might grow into a OLB. Yet they're all being recruited at CB. Ok. The first kid has about 6 minutes of him playing QB and the last two playing CB with a couple of plays doubled up and shown from different angles. Not alot to go on. Included in those clips is him making tackles out on the perimeter. So three out of the guys listed don't even really fit the criteria you set up to judge them. Some combination of film of them playing CB and the position they're being recruited as opposed to Davis.
Miami's current best corner has a high school tape that didn't feature "physicality and speed".
The athletic skills of wide receivers are pretty similar to those of a CB. That's a basic way to evaluate their CB talents. Also, you can pull up entire games rather than just their highlight reels if you want to see their entire performance as a CB. So that makes you point of their highlights at other positions irrelevant. And as far as not fitting the criteria, the staff's the one that offered that at CB, not me. And if they're so infallible, they must be seeing something that you and I are evidently missing if their film is inadequate in your evaluations.
Davis features 6' 3" 200 pounds of physicality which he utilizes well enough. His speed is rangy and he covers ground well. He's also still developing. Howard's tape featured elite ball skills and just blanket coverage. It doesn't matter how physical or fast you are if you can do that ala Tyrek Cole this recruiting class. Not sure what you dislike about Davis.

Its your criteria I have a problem with. I don't care about Davis or the list of guys who you think he is better than other than your definitive statements about the subject. Particularly when those statements aren't backed up by concrete information. Where is the extensive game footage of the three guys I talked about playing CB? Or did you use the clips available to everyone along with what appears to be incorrect position assumptions to make your evaluations. On that list you have a S/OLB who is actually irrelevant because he doesn't play CB. The 5'8" RB/WR who you have provided no evidence of being recruited as corner by Miami and the kid who is a QB for his high school team with limited clips of him playing CB.
The staff could very well be ******** up but the list of players you provided aren't evidence of them favoring less talented OOS players at the position particularly when two of them don't really play the position.

I googled the entire games of the players, not just their hudl highlights. There's a lot more tape to evaluate obviously.
And as I said from the beginning, these offers are according to 247 that we are recruiting these kids at CB. As you say, there's less than stellar tape to go on for this which is why, if true, I think the staff is bungling this by missing out on an excellent local kid in exchange for out of state reaches.

We're a couple of weeks away from when the camps begin. If he plays well, he'll get his offer.
Exactly it's not like he can't get one at all. Plus he goes to BTW, he's a lock. I just hope if he comes to Miami he better be better than LaDarius Gunter was

The question is will he camp at Miami, since he has gotten all these offers he may feel he shouldn't have to and that his on the field production from when he was at Homestead should be enough. Hopefully he does camp at UM and gets an offer.

opinions change. Some still like him a lot, but others want to see more. I think he will eventually get one, but I don't like the wait
