‘26 QB Dereon Coleman commits to Miami

Miami has its QB of the future. 2026 blue-chip QB Dereon Coleman of Jones High School (Orlando) announced that he will be a Cane.

The 6’1, 165 gunslinger is no stranger to competition, as he beat out Elite 11 senior QB Trever Jackson as a sophomore and outshining multiple highly-regarded quarterbacks at Miami’s recent camp.

Coleman completed 63% of his passes for 2,236 yards, 16 TDs and 6 INTs as a sophomore. He also added 4 TDs on the ground.

He is Miami’s third commitment of the ‘26 class, joining WR Malachi Toney and LB Jordan Campbell.

I’m good with this approach. Nickel and hopefully Coleman both a lot to like, no drama, early commitments, probably not breaking the bank etc

Gives us some flexibility to be aggressive in the portal if we need to

Better than the Rashada/Emory/Judd type stuff imo

Coleman looks insane, if he can see things in the pocket that’s a future superstar. It all depends how he sees things if he sees things fast like Cam we are set to make a big leap with him
