Feels like a nice diamond in the rough addition. We badly needed more frontcourt depth. Any idea how much eligibility he has left? Is it just the one year?

“We are thrilled to welcome Kiree Huie and his family into our program here at Miami,” Larrañaga said. “Kiree has great skill in the post, is a terrific rebounder and possesses a strong work ethic. The combination of his size and athleticism will bolster our front court and add tremendous value to our program.”

Huie started 32 of 34 games played for the Bengals, averaging 11.4 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per contest. He co-led the team in rebounding and finished second on the team in field goal percentage, shooting at a 56.3 percent clip.

The forward totaled 21 double-digit outings and four double-doubles in 2023-24 and finished the year fourth among all Big Sky players in offensive rebounds per game (2.15), fifth in blocked shots and tied for 10th in rebounding.

Prior to Idaho State, Huie spent two seasons at Odessa College where he guided the Wranglers to back-to-back WJCAC Championships and consecutive Elite Eight appearances in the NJCAA National Tournament.

As a sophomore at Odessa, Huie averaged 10.6 points on 60.8 percent shooting and hauled in 5.9 rebounds per contest.

A native of Grayson, Ga., Huie helped the Grayson Rams to the Georgia Class AAAAAAA state championship game in 2019-20 alongside Clemson’s Ian Schieffelin.

Thanks, @DMoney !

Was told about this kid last week, and obviously Idaho State is not exactly a program we know a lot about in the southeast. But he's from Georgia, so it's a nice (relative) geographic homecoming.

Hopefully, he won't step out to jack that awkward 3 like Norchad did...

Judging by the highlight tape posted above, this dude's range extends to maybe 6 feet, so I doubt that'll be an issue

Seems like a fairly athletic big, that should provide much needed depth in the post. May not be as skilled as the other new bigs we got but looks like the type of post who with some skill development could flourish at Miami. He's a rim runner, who plays hard. If he can produce on the boards and help protect the rim, LOOK OUT!

I don’t think it’s a big ask either, depending on who else we bring in
JUST BASED OFF WATCHING HIS ENERGY he can get some of his avg just off of his hustle alone.

Kid wont take a jumper but he may can get some offensive rebounds, rim run, and he seems to have that little hook shot thing going. I mean the acc is a big step up but if he is getting close to 20 mins i think its doable.
