Totally understand that we were soundly outplayed by a clearly superior team, but with thread after thread bashing every aspect of the program, it is clear that we have the worst fanbase in America.

Totally agree, if I told everyone on this board we would be 7-1 at this point everyone would have taken that in a heartbeat.

Its the manner in which we lost that has ruffled jimmies. A portion of the fan base expects every player in a hurricane jersey to be the most elite player at his position year in and year out. So when said super elite player does not perform is has to be the lack of coaching and we should clean house every year until someone can make AJ Highsmith, Jimmy Gaines and Tyrone Cornielous, All-Americans and top 10 draft picks.

(sorry for singling those guys out. I know they are giving everything they have. and it's not their fault that Randy wasted years of their development and never surrounded them with a solid core of guys in their class or the classes before. )

I personally appreciate your 'apology'. The thing that ruffles my jimmies the most is porsters who bash these kids. They're Canes. A lot of these kids should be the "coal shovelers" that AG has brought up many times as being vital to any successful program. Unfortunately, we have to rely on them to win games.

Here are my thoughts, people had their expectations this year. Whether they posted them or not, people had some type of expectation.

When we won against UF, some changed their expectations. As we kept winning and we're 7-0, some continued to change their expectations.

Totally agree, if I told everyone on this board we would be 7-1 at this point everyone would have taken that in a heartbeat.

In my opinion, I believe this is almost 95% true for the board. I believe that whether they posted it or not, people would have taken 7-1 especially if that meant we beat UF. Especially if that meant we could face FSU one more time.

To the board,

Now I know some people expectations have changed after we lost to FSU. Some idiots believed we were going 14-0 and want Al fired. Some believed we were better than FSU and want Al gone etc. It doesn't matter really.

Now we're 7-1 but we have been given a major setback (DUKE IS GONE), the season is in no way over but we must respond to this hurdle. It is unfortunate that the next opponent we have is VT and we lost our best offensive weapon. We're going against a tremendous defense and we lost our best weapon.

This game will set the tone for the rest of the season IMO. If we win, no matter how ugly, we move on and are in EXCELLENT shape for a rematch. I still, no matter what, expect 4 tough and close games unless Morris wakes up.

Let us not forget that we have NEVER been to the ACCCG.

Let us not forget that we haven't been to a BCS game since 2003 (Orange Bowl against FSU).

Let us not forget that we haven't won a bowl game since the MPC Bowl under Coker.

Let us not forget that we haven't had double digit wins since 2003.

Let us not forget we haven't been ranked so high since 2005.

Don't give up.

Just win baby.

I predicted a 14-0 season if we could stay healthy.
We haven't been healthy all season long and we are 7-1.

Myself and my family are some of the staunchest Cane fans around. My parents have had season tickets right behind the Cane bench a couple rows up for 3 decades.
I say this because, even my dad and bro, are acting like most of the people on this board, calling for heads to roll.
Happens to even the best of us.

With our 7-0 start staunch fans and the always emerging casual fans start thinking we are back to the glory days.
Real fans know differently.
We are still a recruiting class behind.
Even though I thought we had the team to go 14-0, I knew it too.
You can't lose a speed burner like Dorsett, a quality lineman like Isidora, a quality wr like Scott, have your NFL caliber qb hobbled all year, and lose one of the best rb's, and most importantly play with over 10% less scholarship players than your opponents! and expect to run the table.

Because we've been playing with 10 less scholly's players for the past couple years our depth has not been there, and we can't afford a rash of injuries, especially to our most important players.

Everyone i think is happy with the 7-1 number, but where people are upset. Is that they believe this team is way better than what is showing. We could have came into this season, and picked up where we left off last season, offensively, and still be 7-1. It's just how your getting there is where the issue comes in for so many fans.

Bottom line, every fan base is *****ing everyday, about their team. Something could always be better. It's just not this one.

We've had a super easy schedule & have been quite lucky along the way to be 7-1.
The worry for myself is that we won't always squeak out those games (@ UNC or against Wake) & it's frustrating that our style of play seems to allow inferior conference opponents to play with us for 4 quarters.

Maybe those 'inferior conference opponents' aren't really inferior relative to what we have...

Maybe we need to stop turning the ball over and giving them the opportunity to play with us. 10 turnovers in ACC play.

We're 3-1 and turning the ball over that much, it is scary to think if we didn't turn it over what would happen.

That would certainly help.

I think we woulds till be 3-1 but we would have beaten GT and UNC by more IMO.

Son Life Stadium in Miami Garden

I will be there.

Won't :neonu: join me please?

Yes I'm upset that we lost to FSU (**** them) by 27 pts, but I'll get over it.

What I'm most upset about is that we lost our best player to injury in a losing effort and that it's going to affect the rest of our season.
