2014 Miami Central Miami Commit Joseph Yearby showed off his skills during the Miami NFTC Camp on Sunday.
Yearby is considered one of the top running backs in south Florida and showed those skills off by winning the Running Back award.
“It was really good, I came out got some work in and did what I have to do.”
Yearby is one of the top 3 running backs in south Florida along with Sony Michel and Dalvin Cook and described each other’s game including his own.
“We are all different, Dalvin has the speed and Sony just has those incredible moves and I just try to muscle it out.”
The Miami Central back committed to Miami a while back and talked about what went into that commitment
“I wanted to be a Hurricane, I just wanted to be a cane. Nothing but that went into it.”
Miami Offensive Coordinator James Coley played a key role in his recruitment getting him to flip from Florida State to Miami.
“Yeah he played a very big part of the commitment, we started a bond that we still have and we just talk every time we can.”
Hurricane fans do enjoy the idea of a possible recruiting class that could include either Yearby and Michel and possible even Cook. Yearby spoke on what it would be like.
“Well, me and Sony that would be a very good combination because I know Miami has had Willis Mcgahee and Frank Gore together so that would be real nice. With Dalvin, I’m pretty good at talking to him about Miami, but we will see he is pretty solid to Clemson.”
Yearby rated his commitment level as “ a very strong commit.”
