Xavier Lucas wants to be in the portal but Luke Fickell pays to watch men ramrod his wife

They are alleging that Lucas has a NIL contract signed and is refusing to pay back money, which Wisconsin is using to reason their refusal to his portal entrance.

I wonder when a lawyer will tell them what they're doing is extremely illegal.
If Wisconsin is really withholding with an NIL breach as the reason, that seems like a tacit admission that the NIL and the school are not separate entities. As a non-lawyer, I imagine this could easily backfire and lead to the badgers getting the hammer if the NCAA had the will power.

I assume theyre not stupid have a better reason. Id guess they will allege some evidence of Miami tampering and we'll see where it goes

It doesn't prevent them from submitting the transfer paperwork.

I don't know any other way to say this, and I encourage everyone to do their own research by reading the recent articles on Fickell and Wisconsin and the exodus of players (as well as the Wisconsin boards).

FICKELL IS INTENTIONALLY BEING AN *******. AND TRYING TO BLAME EVERYONE ELSE FOR HIS PROBLEMS.

Xavier Lucas is not the first or the last player to flee Fickell and Wisconsin. And instead of the Wisconsin administration and fanbase accepting and acknowledging that fact, Fickell has begun to peddle the bull**** (and the Wisconsin fans are eating up the bull****) that Comical Villain Miami has swooped in to **** with poor little Wiscahnsin (in what must certainly be a delayed revenge tactic over the loss of TVD).

Now, follow along with me and learn a little bit about how a false narrative is constructed.

Everything was perfect in Cheeseland. All of the Wisconsin players loved the snow and the Paranos-women and the .500 record. Suddenly, Mario Cristobal appeared from behind his black cape, twirling his handlebar mustache. He offered MONEY to Xavier Lucas. In doing so, all of the virginal Wisconsin players learned of the existence of "N.I.L", and they started asking for more money. Some found more money at other schools. Some forced Wisconsin to pay them this evil thing known as "fair market value", because they are greedy ******** who didn't want to risk life and limb for the glorious "full scholarship" compensation.

Regardless, the evil Mario Cristobal triggered an exodus and/or overpayment of altar-boy Wisconsin players. And then, to make matters worse, even AFTER Xavier Lucas signed his glorious 3% cost-of-living-adjustment NIL deal, the evil Miami minions CONTINUED TO CONVERSE with Xavier Lucas, using methods such as hypnosis and sodium pentathol, until Xavier Lucas finally cracked and made the obvious mistake to submit Portal paperwork. At that point, Big Daddy Fickell stepped in to save Xavier Lucas from himself, and Wisconsin excecuted a serious of increasingly bizarre "administrative oversights" to prevent the clearly erroneous Portal paperwork from ever making it to the hands of the NCAA.

And Xavier Lucas was grateful for Big Daddy FIckell looking out for his best interest, no matter what Miami tells you. And pay no attention to Xavier's hiring of an attorney, those are not the droids you are looking for. This saga is a huge win for the lily-white and stain-free game of college football, which has never ripped off its players for the past century, and which was certainly going to pay Ed O'Bannon a lot of money for the NCAA video games, if only he had asked nicely.

Yep, it's those greedy-greedy players (but not the innocent Wisconsin players) and those evil evil colleges in places like Miami-murder-capital that are destroying our wonderful game of unpaid-college-football that we have come to love and profit from.

Now, no matter what you think of my dramatic summation of the situation, I can guaran-*******-tee you that Fickell is trying to blame everyone else but himself for the collapsing Wisconsin football program, and the "it can't possibly be us, we've done nothing wrong" Wisconsin fanbase are eating the nuts out of Fickell's ****.

As I recently told another poster, it doesn't matter what the truth is. It only matters that they BELIEVE THE LIE. Because that is what allows them to clutch their pearls and get all huffy about suing a 19 year old kid, instead of blaming Toxic Luke Fickell.

Will this narrative win out in a courtroom battle? **** no. But the truth doesn't matter. Wisconsin (coaches, admins, fans) are mad as **** and they aren't going to take it anymore. At least that's what they believe, and if sitting on a Portal application and rattling their legal sabers are going to make them feel better about their miserable, cheesy lives, then they are **** sure committed to going down this highway to ****.
Fickell to wide eyed Wisconsin players....

"Once you start down the NIL path, forever will it dominate your college football destiny!"

"Xavier Lucas, who was a pupil of mine until he turned the NIL evil, helped the Miami Hurricanes track down and destroy college football. He betrayed and murdered this sport."

Wisconsin college football player, tears in his eyes, raises a hand. "There is still good in him!"

"He's more NIL than man....twisted and evil."

And then later....

"Image and likeness leads to payment. Payment leads to bidding. Bidding leads to suffering...for the Wisconsin Badgers."

I can also picture this scene between Fickell and Cristobal...

"You turned Lucas against me!"

Mario: You have done that yourself, Fickell

"You will not take Lucas from me!"

Mario: Your anger and your lust for power have already done that. You have allowed Steinecker to twist your mind until now you have become the very thing that you swore to destroy.

"Don't lecture me Cristobal. I see through the lies of NIL. I do not fear maintaining complete control over player destinies as you do. I have brought wins, integrity, justice, and stability to my college football empire."

Mario: Your new empire? You've taken in dozens of transfers...including my former quarterback?!

"Don't make me send the NCAA after you."

Mario: Fickell, my allegiance is to my program and my players. NIL is spreading a previously denied wealth to all players.

"If you're not with me, then you're my enemy."

Mario: Only a caveman deals in sticking with the past. I will do what I must.

Nods to Canes Collective, who increases NIL offer.

"You will try...."

What's crazy is that even IF their argument is that Miami is tampering, that still doesn't give them the right to keep him out of the portal. If he submitted the paperwork, he's allowed to transfer.

They've lost their minds.

My gf dumped me and was leaving so I grabbed her and locked her in the bathroom for a week. No way this ends badly.
I was justified in locking her in the bathroom because she refused to reimburse me for the iPhone I got her for her birthday a week ago.

I am also thinking of suing her new boo because he promised her a Louis bag as well as iPhones for her entire family.

I haven't followed the saga whatsoever, but I just went over to Wisconsin 247, and they seem to think that he has money the collective gave him, and it's owed back because of his intention to enter the portal. That's why Wisconsin is holding him hostage... does that sound right? School seems to be listening to the collective, which, from what I know (very little), is illegitimate in this portal era

well wisky cant tech prevent him entering the portal (which theyre doing bc the NIL is not Wisconsin and cannot be dependent on if he plays for wisky or not). now, maybe it states that he just has to be enrolled at Wisky to remain eligible to collect (whether or not he plays) then thats different, but still cant prevent a school from withholding a kid from transferring academically. now, the nIL stuff will come down to the termination clauses and whether he breached or we interfered with their contractual relationship and led to him breaching. we would need to see the damages clause to see what he agreed to (whether he owes any special or punitive damages). also if they allege we interfered with their relationship, we could also be pulled into a suit.

It would seem that Wisconsin is:

1) Seeking to make an example
2) Running out the clock so that Xavier’s preferred destinations spend their money elsewhere
3) Get him to spend so much in legal fees to get out that it becomes a net negative to transfer
