I'm guessing they are trying to prevent him from enrolling in classes at Miami, and therefore foreclosing his ability to transfer during the winter window. He would have to sit until the spring window and could then transfer and enroll. I'm guessing this is purely a deterrent to other players on the Wisconsin football team that if you sign a NIL agreement and leave, and we want you to stay, we will do whatever we can to make your life difficult. The downside to Wisconsin of having to litigate and possibly owing damages to this kid for him missing a spring semester and practices is probably not much to them in the grand scheme of things. They see it as the cost of doing business.

They just don't want him coming here specifically to flex a W over Miami

"Hey south Florida kid! Come to Wisconsin where we will imprison and trap you in our frozen over **** if you realize you made a mistake in deciding to attend our school. You will stay here and enjoy our 3 hours of sunlight a day until we say we are done with you! Tell your friends!"

I dont see how they are going to like the results of this stand they are taking. Acting like they just lost 2004 Sean Taylor.

If the going rate is 500k annually for him, the damages owed will be minimal in the grand scheme of things for Wisconsin. Reads like they're trying to set a precedent and prove a point. They'll spend a couple hundred k to achieve it if needed.

We’re the easiest school to hate on. It’s become a knee jerk reaction at this point. Just look at the comments on that barstool tweet.
The usual “ghetto school, thug U” comments.

Fickle and the admin is likely aware of that. Even the coaches can’t keep our name out their mouths. From Venables last year to ok state saying we are the dirtiest most tampering program.
And nobody calls them out on it.
Nobody GAF about Wisconsin and kids are still gonna go there the way kids still go to UF or FSU regardless of how much a kid was ripped off or lied to.

Idk what is gonna happen. It’s either wisky has a royal flush or is bluffing.
But wisky will get a lot of praise all over cfb if they have something that can get us in trouble.
Nobody in the entirety of cfb was on our side when Emmett did a 3 year colonoscopy and illegally investigated this university.
Fickle and wisky will look like heroes trying to take down the evil big bad thugs at Miami despite the fact that we haven’t won sht in 20 years. It’s amazing that people still care or are even afraid of what we can do.

Maybe they know they’re gonna lose but are gonna go down raging bull style. But I doubt it. We are all talking about this hurting recruiting, but what about the morale of the team right now.
How do they feel about a coach or an admin that is holding a kid hostage because he’s making a business decision?

Kids are gonna go where they are paid. They could care less about who you didn’t pay last year as long as you paid them today.
But the players right now on that team have to be feeling some type of way.

And if he’s trying to make an example out of Lucas then it’s just bad team management imo.
