Xavier Lucas in the portal

regardless of what legally happens, the impact on recruiting both in the portal and HS that has come from them trying to make lucas an example will be an incredible mistake

yeah "come to Wisconsin where we'll lower your NIL pay at any given time for no reason"

what a dumbass program

No one went to Florida ever again after the Rashada situation.

i didnt say nobody would ever go there again, but it DID impact Florida's recruiting, that was almost 2 years ago btw

that was also he said vs they said,

this is an attorney publicly posting their NIL agreement that's very disadvantageous for players, i don't think I was really going out on a limb saying it would hurt their recruiting but go off

It may hurt their recruiting - for a short window of time at most -- like Florida -- 2 years (then we got stuffed in a locker) - when people here are making it seem like Wisconsin will be given the death penalty.

That tweet of heitner reads like a revenue sharing agreement between the player and school was signed in anticipation of the court case being resolved in the spring.

If so, may make more sense why the school is involved. Not saying it's right, just saying we've been talking about this being a collective vs. player contract.

Yes. He’s previously said back when Lucas made his tweet that schools were doing starting to do this but at the same time said they probably wouldn’t be enforceable.

I don't disagree. In today's world...it would be a NCAA violation and Wisconsin is banking on the NCAA sitting on their hands not doing anything.

What a scummy situation. Kid probably misses spring ball.

Are you a gator fan? I don’t get why you keep randomly inserting pro gator things

If you love gator recruiting so much go to their board, I’m still more confident in the players we got and equally as confident those gator players will be in the portal in 11 months when Florida is looking for a new HC

Revenue sharing contracts may be the avenue the schools take to curb unlimited transfers because they presumably can tie kids to the school for multiple years contractually. That would explain why Wisconsin is willing to die on this hill.

UF was a live example that showed an arguably worse situation proving the impact will be able to be overcome by a school ******* things up.

The portal is alive and well -- players jump into all the time - including our own - so why wouldn't there be the potential for players to look to portal when the current coach leaves -- there is actually a window for that - like we are seeing now with Coach L.

Are you more confident that we beat Florida in September with the players we got right now or that all their players will be in the portal in 11 months?

You overlook the simple fact that Florida is the flagship state school of Florida, while Wisconsin is one of a large number of out-of-state schools trying to catch the attention of recruits in Florida.

But for Florida having Brown and Hanks locked up as Gator legacies, their recruiting class might have fallen apart completely during the fall.

Yes, it is easy for people in Florida to "forgive" the Gators after a couple of years. Wisconsin is going to face substantial challenges recruiting in Florida for a while. Unless Wisconsin fires Fickell. Recruits tend to forgive a school after a coaching change.

Don’t need to fire a coach in today’s game to win the fancy of recruits. It’s all about money. Tweak the flaws in your NIL policies, pay the big dollars recruits will soon forgive.

Yes, but how are they even currently legal?

No, they cannot tie the kids to the school for multiple years contractually. They can ALWAYS transfer.

And, besides, they'd just get a NEW revenue-sharing deal at their next school anyhow.
