Xavier Lucas in the portal

Look..I want Xavier Lucas here as much as the next guy..but O&G glasses off for a second..if he took money in December...and the money hit his bank account..and a month later he hit the transfer portal trying to leave..I can see why they are salty. That said, it is what it is. NIL regulations should have been in place years ago and I blame the NCAA for that. Its the wild west out here with no rules or regulations to protect players or the schools.

What's good for the goose...

Look... I don't give a **** how salty Wisconsin is. If Xavier took them for a couple hundred racks, and wants to transfer here, by all means. This holier than though act that they are pulling is disingenuous, at best. These clowns wanted to pay athletes, mission accomplished.

The bottom line is (and will remain) that they don't have a legal leg to stand on.

I will say again, Heitner is a dumb publicity hound masquerading as a litigator. Not who Lucas needs, if Wisconsin digs its heels in.
On day 1, a real lawyer would have served the NCAA and Wisconsin a demand letter to "put Lucas in portal within 24 hours, and failure to do so will result in litigation". On Day 2, if no response from either, said real lawyer would have filed a lawsuit in the Eastern District of Wisconsin against both defendants. The NCAA and Wisconsin are savvy litigants, with likely 50 lawsuits filed against them a year, each (including routine employee litigation, car accidents, breaches of vendor contracts, etc.). They ignore public threats of litigation. While Heitner is ****ing around "threatening litigation" on twitter, the clock is ticking and Lucas' position is not getting better.

* For the lawyers critiquing this strategy, I know you will have to exhaust your administrative remedies under the APA as a condition precedent to filing suit. The "serving the demand letter" is a proxy for doing that.

Wtf is the NCAA doing? They should, for the first time ever, be proactive and handle this ****. This whole thing is insane.

I'm also wondering if Wisconsin wants Xavier to file a suit so they can ask for any communication of tampering to be shown in court. Sounds dumb but idk wtf else their endgame could be.

Wondering if they are now just being spiteful and hoping to cause him to miss spring entirely due to registration deadlines. Seems crazy to risk all the bad publicity etc

Doesn't matter that is an issue between the collective and the player not the school

If he got money in December pay it back and get released. Hopefully this young man didn't take it and spend it all already.

Everyone keeps talking about “Wisconsin risking bad publicity by withholding Lucas” but so far, outside of Miami outlets, there’s been no publicity about it. It’s like no one cares, allowing them to get away with it
The bad publicity is being overblown HERE. Because when Miami changes toilet paper without letting the local coaches know, Luke and others take to the webs with their bull****.

Wisconsin could get dragged for a few months, then their recruiting likely goes right back to what it usually is, and life moves along.

**** this. **** all of it.

I could care less about the volume of their salt. I have stopped caring about what the NCAA should have done five years ago.

The two issues are simple.

1. Are there ANY policies, exceptions, or guidelines in either NCAA rules or Wisconsin rules that allow Wisconsin to NOT process Xavier Lucas's Portal paperwork? (the answer is no)

2. Does ANY contractual agreement that Xavier Lucas signed with Wisconsin or the Wisconsin collective contain a repayment clause? (if so, then file a lawsuit in court)

That is all. ANYTHING beyond those two issues is meaningless and has no bearing here. I don't care about "salty". Wisconsin can shove "salty" up their collective ***.
Im not caping for Wisconsin. Man you guys get so sensitive about this stuff. Lol. Relax. All im saying is..people have killed for less. 500k is the rumored number? Hey man, Lucas has to fight this in court and he will win but I blame the NCAA. I dont blame Lucas or Wisconsin. The governing body needs to get off their a$$ and start creating rules and policies. This is big money we are talking about here now. No more $100 handshakes.

Has there been a single tweet from the south Florida brigade about this situation (Luke, SFE, RAW, Etc)?

I’m guessing not because we all know how it goes down here…. Make miami look bad but never other programs. Only the hometown school that put the city on the map for high school football

regardless of what legally happens, the impact on recruiting both in the portal and HS that has come from them trying to make lucas an example will be an incredible mistake

yeah "come to Wisconsin where we'll lower your NIL pay at any given time for no reason"

what a dumbass program
