if he took money and cashed the check, he'd have to return the money. we can obviously make up the lost amount in his deal here with Canes Connection
We don’t know what kind of language was in the contract or the paperwork that he signed with that collective.

So just to be clear, I don’t think there can be any language that states that if he leaves Wisconsin he has to return the money. That in itself would imply that he has to play for Wisconsin to not only get paid but keep the money.

The school is probably trying to save face with the collective itself because all those players left and I assume they all got something at one point.

I have a hard time believing Wisconsin is obtuse enough to believe that this would be something worth doing over something NIL related..that would be blatantly against the rules AND illegal, not to mention a big loser in the eyes of public perception and future recruiting.

This HAS to be something related to actually completing the process properly to begin with and the school probably dragging their feet. Right? There's no way a school as big as Wisconsin has an athletics compliance department dumb enough to delay his transfer due to NIL. Right?

Maybe they want the portal deadlines to be the next NCAA rule that gets temporarily nuked in court via injunction.

Looks like they’re dumb enough.

I think we have first hand experience that these coaches are in fact stubborn and not all that smart even though they get paid millions. I think their HC is just that in this situation. He probably thought that he would get the sympathy from the public and not the kid.

same thought i had. wisconsin's lawyers cant be this dumb to put their school in legal jeopardy over a CB lol. Wonder if he failed to cross his I's and dot his T's on whatever transfer portal paperwork he has to complete so they believe they can delay legally (while standing up for their collective and trying to recoup funds?). Still a bad look regardless.
