Miami Hurricanes senior wide receiver Xavier Restrepo spoke to reporters on day two of fall camp, expressing his excitement for the revamped offense under offensive coordinator Shannon Dawson and a renewed Tyler Van Dyke.

“There's just so many opportunities. Coach Dawson's doing a great job giving us opportunities and we're just taking advantage of them – it's a real explosive offense, I'm just glad to be a part of it,” Restrepo said.

The veteran wideout also showed gratitude for being able to work with new WR coach Kevin Beard, who is in his second coaching stint at Miami.

“We've got Kevin Beard and working with him he's awesome and I love coming here every single day just solely because of him. He just put so much time and he's so patient with us. He really devotes his entire basically lives around us.”

When asked about newcomers Nathaniel “Ray Ray” Joseph, Tyler Harrell, and Shemar Kirk, Restrepo explained that all three have a chance to make a major impact this season.

“Ray Ray is my guy I mean as you could tell, kid’s super fast. And he's doing a great job listening and taking coaching and leadership too. So I mean he's gonna have a great career here.”

“Tyler Harrell – fast fast fast that's all I can say. Shemar, and I know you heard coach (Kevin) Beard say this – his run after the catch is insane. I'm just glad to play next to both of those guys.”

Restrepo was asked about transfer CB Jaden Davis from Oklahoma, who was his former high school teammate.

“At St Thomas (Aquinas) me and him used to go at it every single day together and we'll continue to go at it out here. Great athlete, I'm just glad that he's on our side,” he said.

When asked if he watches former Houston WR Tank Dell, Restrepo said about half of the installs are plays that feature Dell, so he has seen a ton of his film. Restrepo could find a similar role for the Canes this season.

On Tyler Van Dyke:

“He's back right where he left off. He's healthy now and he's doing a great job conducting the offense and I mean I'm just super excited to play with him.I mean every single year, every single day it grows (his relationship with Va Dyke) – not only with me, but with all the receivers. He's doing a great job spreading the ball everywhere and again like I said it's an explosive offense, so I just can't wait to play because I know that everybody's putting in the same work and we're all on the same page.”

Not a chance anything remotely close to this was said about Gattis during his time here. Now that we’ve unfortunately gone through multiple years of changing coordinators comments like that standout the most. The kids will never say exactly how they feel about the previous staff because they just can’t for multiple reasons. KB seems like a home run so far, we weren’t hearing anything similar about Gattis this time a year ago. Excited to see the development results of the receiver room this fall.

Your point is spot on, but **** can you not use the G word anymore? I'm about to call my therapist after seeing his name.
