That's my take on it too, just a formula. I didn't read anything other than the chart. And looking at our players and the time they've been in the game, I would have a hard time disputing the math.

That said, it's a good sign for us. We're **** near the "worst" in terms of experience but putting up numbers and winning some tough battles.

Then Stanford is 107th and knocking of USC. So take what you will from the numbers.

Phil Steele uses plenty of sensible foundational criteria. He came up with most of it on his own. He relies on the preseason indications throughout the season, as opposed to frantically overreacting to the latest result. It's a fantastic approach but naturally in the Skip Bayless or Pardon The Interruption era of yelling about yesterday it won't always be appreciated.

I don't know how you came away with thinking Phil Steele doesn't think highly of the team. Seems to me like a great chart that tells us what we already knew, this team is EXTREMELY young and inexperienced. Doesn't mean you can't be good.
