Will Huggins (IMG) commits (preferred walk-on)

You need guys like this on the scout team at least.

He gets a good education, maybe gets in a few plays, gets to say he was on the team. Win win.

And sometimes kids like this end up being players. It’s very rare, but it happens.

It's also a bit of a risk. I imagine IMG is giving him nothing so his parents are blowing 70k/year on high school. He's not getting a dime from the U I'd imagine. Nothing stopping these guys from getting some gear the first day and peaceing out to join Sigma Chi or Sig Ep. They don't need to play.

With a high GPA could be on academic scholarship

Explain how it’s a risk.

This is a guy that would be able to get into Miami on his academic merits alone like most non-football students, but is willing to basically be a tackling dummy for four years because he loves the U and on the off chance maybe he gets in some plays. Also gets to say he’s on the team. Shlt, had I been more ambitious I would have tried to do the same. They can always use bodies.

The only risk is richt and staff will have no leverage. Scholarship guys HAVE to go to practice. If he does something stupid (unlikely but not impossible) and gets arrested like Tucker Bierne the media will still pile on Miami. Marshall Few could play. I think he was worth the risk. If we take walkons I'd rather they be super productive in HS but just missing measurables
