Why we need to get a Portal QB in the Spring

Besides the obvious Emory Williams is not the guy, this team has a lot of talent on the offensive side of the ball. Regardless of whether Martinez returns, the RB room is going to have a great 1-2 punch with Fletcher and Lyle. The WR room loses a lot, but I think Trader and Lofton can be stars. Pair them with the kid from LSU and I think you’ll have a solid group of pass catchers. The OL is going to be very good next year. We return a lot of what we saw last night.

We aren’t going to get Cam Ward. He doesn’t exist this portal cycle. But we can get an obvious upgrade over Emory Williams to bridge the gap between now and Luke Nickels.

This is a 6 win football team with Emory Williams next year. Getting a good QB out of the portal, and this can be another 10 win team next year.

Excellent post. However, what does the D provide next year to get to 10 wins? They will have to perform a **** of a lot better next year to get to that number of wins. Like you said, there is no Cam on the team next year.

I am holding out hope that Guidry is fired and the portal CB’s and S are an upgrade over what we saw this year. But it’s a very fair question.
